Now available for auction is this 2004 BMW E46 M3 Coupe track car finished in Silver Gray Metallic over a black leather interior. Acquired by the current owner in 2013, this E46 M3 has been transformed into a purpose-built track car using high-end aftermarket upgrades including an MCS 2-way coilover suspension, Supersprint headers, a 3.5” Bimmerworld exhaust system, a Performance Friction big brake kit, 17” Apex Racing ARC-8 wheels, a Seibon carbon-fiber hood, an AFE cold air intake system, EPIC motorsports ECU software, an OMP racing seat, four-point rollbar, and much more. Power comes from a replacement S54 engine overhauled with new rod bearings. With approximately 136k miles showing on the odometer, this M3 track car is now being offered for auction by its owner out of North Carolina.
This E46 comes finished in Silver Gray Metallic (A08) with black Shadowline trim and an aftermarket Seibon carbon-fiber vented hood, a European-style front bumper, a carbon-fiber sunroof delete panel, and headlight delete inserts with fiberglass covers. The original xenon headlights are said to accompany the sale. The front fenders were refinished in January of 2021 for cosmetic reasons, and the seller reports some minor blemishes and signs of track-going wear throughout the exterior. Additional images are provided in the gallery along with a CARFAX report showing minor damage in 2015. This E46 wears 17”x9.5" Apex Racing ARC-8 wheels with Bridgestone RE-71R tires. An additional set of D-Force 18” x 9.5" wheels will also accompany the sale, and both sets of wheels are in need of new tires.
The cabin has been partially-stripped while retaining retains the driver’s airbag, upholstery, carpeting, seatbelts, headliner, and door panels. The passenger seat has been deleted as well as the rear seat backrest, trunk trim, stereo system, washer reservoir, and air conditioning. Additions include an OMP WRC-R racing seat, a 6-point Sabelt safety harness, and a UUC short shift kit. The four-point welded roll bar was fabricated by Zima Motorsports and is designed to accommodate a spare set of tires within the car. The airbag warning light is currently illuminated due to the removal of the passenger seat and the seller reports the heating system remains fully functional.
Power comes from a naturally-aspirated 3.2L S54 inline-six which was sourced as a replacement from a 47k-mile E46 M3 donor car. The engine replacement was carried out at approximately 110k miles and included new rod bearings, engine mounts, and a new OEM clutch. It has also been upgraded with catless Supersprint headers, a 3.5” Bimmerworld resonated exhaust, a CSF oil cooler and radiator, a Mishimoto electric fan, an AFE cold air intake, EPIC ECU software, and an aluminum belly pan. Both the air conditioning and secondary air pump have been eliminated. The rear wheels are driven through a 6-speed manual transmission and stopping power comes from a Performance Friction big brake kit with stainless steel brake braided lines and cooling ducts. The suspension has been upgraded with MCS 2-way non-remote coilovers, Vorshlag camber plates, a Hotchkis front sway bar, reinforced subframe attachment points, solid subframe and rear trailing arm bushings, polyurethane differential bushings, Bimmerworld track-grade front control arm bushings, and new replacement front tie rods and wheel bearings. Additional sets of new Carbotech and PFC race compound brake pads will accompany the sale.
This sale will include a spare set of wheels, extra brake pads, and a clean title. A purpose-built racer with quality modifications, this E46 M3 is ready to hit the track with a new owner.

@jose_lg thanks, what about factory interior bits? Seats?
@gfcollins911 yes rear subframe is reinforced.
VANOS is NOT rebuilt.
Nice car. Since it's not mentioned anywhere, I assume the rear subframe has not been reinforced? Also, assume the VANOS has not been rebuilt on the replacement engine?

@Dennyleeb I'm going to start club racing and I bought a SPEC E46 race car.
For track days this M3 is fantastic: it has exceptional grip, braking power, and plenty of straight-line speed.
@awilliamsCRE The car will come with the stock headlights in case the new owner decides to put them back on. The car is not registered in North Carolina so please check local county regulations about emissions testing as this M3 does not have catalytic converters (cats).
I am based in CLT, I assume this isn't street legal any more bc of the lights?
Are you getting out of track days or moving on to something else to drive?
Check out the same video but from the chaser car perspective. Watch action starting at minute 2:30 and ending around 5 min.
