Equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission paired with its naturally aspirated 3.2-liter S54 inline-six engine, this 2004 BMW E46 M3 Coupe is finished in Carbon Black Metallic over Grey Nappa leather upholstery. It features 19” M double-spoke wheels, a limited-slip differential, xenon headlights, a sunroof, power sports seats, and quad exhaust outlets. Benefitting from service with subframe reinforcements in 2023, this M3 is now being offered for auction out of Massachusetts with approximately 53k miles on the odometer.
The M3 features unique bumpers, side skirts, and vented fenders compared to a standard E46 3-Series Coupe as well as a power dome hood, round aerodynamic mirrors, a trunk lid spoiler, and quad exhaust outlets. This example is finished in Carbon Black Metallic (416) with black Shadowline trim and 19” Style 67 M double-spoke wheels. Other equipment includes xenon headlights, fog lights, LED taillights, and an electric sunroof. New Michelin Pilot Sport tires were installed in preparation for sale and the exterior recently underwent paint correction. The seller notes some rock chips on the front end. Detailed images are provided in the galley along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin is appointed with Grey Nappa leather upholstery complemented by Brushed Aluminum Shadow trim and an Anthracite headliner. Accessories include heated and power-adjustable front sport seats, a three-spoke M sport steering wheel, a leather-wrapped M shift knob, M3-branded door sills and floor mats, an M sport footrest, M3-specific gauges, automatic climate control, cruise control, a BMW Business CD stereo, and a Harman/Kardon sound system. Some wear is noted on the driver’s seat.
Featuring double-VANOS variable valve timing and individual throttle bodies, the naturally aspirated 3.2-liter S54 inline-six engine delivers up to 333 HP and 262 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The car comes standard with four-wheel ventilated disc brakes, a front strut tower brace, and Dynamic Stability Control (DSC). The seller notes a subframe reinforcement kit was installed in 2023 along with replacements of the spark plugs, vacuum control unit, differential fluid, rear exhaust hanger, and left front strut assembly.
This sale will include a clean title.

Just bought an FJ40, so I won’t be able to bid on this one. Would’ve been perfect for my garage.
Bid in the amount of $20,000
*or VANOS
If I recall this car had the subframe done, but NOT the rod bearings for VANOS. So unless that's changed, figure about 4-5k depending on where you are to really square things away.
Bid in the amount of $17,000
I followed the previous auction on this car and tried to follow up with the dealer after it didn't meet reserve. Didn't hear back, so I assumed it sold. Nice car.
@Montegue thank you for the comment! I unfortunately don’t have any info on the previous accident. This is from the previous owner regarding the suspension, “Shocks were new all around at ~45k miles so I just changed the one that had a slight bow and was causing a bit more camber on that corner…no sign of impact or curbing, may have just been defective from the start and gone unnoticed by PO”.
Beautiful E46!
Can you tell us the story behind the front LH suspension and wheel repair in 2023?
Also, any pictures of the 2017 accident before repairs?
Thanks for the paint meter readings.
