Celebrating twenty years since the Volkswagen GTI made its North American debut in 1983, the GTI 20th Anniversary Edition was launched in 2003 with 4,200 examples produced in total. It is distinguished by vintage-style red GTI lettering and a chrome rabbit badge on the rear end as well as a Votex bodykit, 18” OZ alloy wheels, black headliner, a golf ball shift knob, and unique Recaro bucket seats with silver stitching and red GTI embroideries. The 20th Anniversary Edition also shared its mechanicals with the GTI 337 Edition including a lowered sport suspension, upgraded brakes, and a 6-speed manual transmission paired with a 1.8-liter turbocharged engine. This particular example comes finished in Imola Yellow and is now being offered for auction by its second owner out of Illinois while showing approximately 62k miles on the odometer.
The GTI 20th Anniversary Edition was only offered in three colors and this example is one of 25% to have come finished in Imola Yellow. This commemorative model came standard with Votex front and rear valences, side skirts, and a rear hatch spoiler as well as black-painted mirrors and headlight trim. It rides on factory 18” OZ Aristo alloy wheels dressed in new Dunlop tires. Other equipment includes vintage-style rear badging, a power glass sunroof, integrated front fog lamps, a heated rear window, and daytime running lights. Additional images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
This limited-edition GTI sports a Black and Gray cloth interior with unique Recaro bucket seats featuring silver accent stitching and red GTI embroideries on the backrests. Other special details include a leather-wrapped three-spoke steering wheel, handbrake, and shift boot in black leather with silver contrast stitching. The driver is provided with power windows and mirrors, air conditioning, a remote keyless locking system, cruise control, and a premium Monsoon Sound System with an AM/FM radio cassette player and in-dash CD player.
This GTI is equipped with a turbocharged 1.8-liter inline four-cylinder engine producing up to 180 HP and 173 lb.-ft of torque. The front wheels are driven by way of a 6-speed manual transmission. The 20th Anniversary Edition shares its 30mm-lowered sport suspension with the GTI 337 Edition as well as its upgraded brakes with 12.3” vented rotors in front, 10.3" vented rotors in the rear, and red powder-coated calipers at each corner. Other performance features include power rack & pinion steering, track-correcting independent torsion beam rear suspension, Anti-Slip Regulation (ASR), and Electronic Differential Lock (EDL). The CARFAX report shows routine service history under the original owner’s care in Texas including new front brake pads and four new tires installed by Mercedes-Benz of Austin in February 2023.
This sale will include the original window sticker, owner’s manuals, and a clean title.

Any insight into the state of the water pump, timing and auxiliary belts, clutch?
Does the car need anything in terms of maintenance or otherwise?
Are the boost gauge and device mount removable without damage to the underlying surfaces?
Thanks!

A few more questions…
1) any other mods besides for boost gauge, K&N filter, and the device mount (picture 69 :)
2) what device is supposed to be used in the cradle pictured in pic #69?
I’m assuming there is a tune…do you know what it is running?

Beautiful car!
A couple of questions from a local guy.
1) the glove box door looks a little funky. Is there anything going on there or is that the lighting?
2) is the glass all original? I couldn’t tell from the photos.

@PAEuros Unfortunately I'm forced to sell some of my cars(please check my other listings) because my new car is coming in December.
Looks like you picked this car up 6 months ago from the original owner. Is this correct? If so, why are you selling so soon?
