The first-generation Saab 9-3, launched in 1998 on the GM 2900 platform, represented a substantial upgrade over the Saab 900, offering refreshed styling, a refined suspension, enhanced safety features, and a hydraulically operated convertible top. This 2003 example is finished in Steel Gray Metallic over Black leather upholstery. Selected with a 5-speed manual transmission, the optional SE trim equips a 2.0L turbocharged inline four-cylinder producing 205 HP. Acquired by the seller in 2009, this Saab 9-3 SE Convertible is now being offered for auction out of Connecticut with approximately 85k miles showing on the odometer.
The exterior is finished in Steel Gray Metallic with a black convertible top. Equipment includes headlight wipers, halogen headlamps, fog lights, pronounced fenders, dual rear antennas, integrated front & rear spoilers, and power & heated side mirrors. It rides on factory 16” five-spoke alloy wheels dressed in Bridgestone Potenza tires from 2008. The seller notes a couple of scratches and dings, and the front and rear bumpers were refinished due to rock chips. Additionally, an 8” piece of the front right under the tray is broken. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin is upholstered in Black leather complemented with walnut wood trim along the instrument panel. Equipment includes power-adjustable seats and windows, a multifunction steering wheel, and a leather-wrapped shift knob & boot cover. Amenities consist of remote keyless entry, electronic speed control, automatic climate control, a 6-speaker sound system, and an ETR AM/FM radio with a CD player. All gauges, electronics, and accessories are confirmed to be in working order.
Power comes from a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine generating as much as 205 HP to the front wheels through a 5-speed manual transmission. Performance equipment includes independent front suspension with MacPherson struts, H-formed rear suspension with semi-rigid torsion-beam rear axle, front & rear stabilizer bars, power 4-wheel disc brakes with ventilated front discs, Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), and a sport exhaust outlet. The seller adds that the cabin filter has been changed, ignition coils and spark plugs were recently replaced, and regular oil changes have been performed.
This sale will include a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “I bought this car for my wife in 2009 with 61k miles from Kingsway Motors in Fairfield CT. They specialized in Saab and were a Saab-authorized shop and parts supplier. The owner is a childhood friend of mine so we did not usually work with paper service records. The oil was changed every 3k miles. Sometimes sooner because of lack of use. The AC blows cold and the heat blows hot. Everything works as it should, including the power antenna for the original radio. Windows and top work flawlessly and at the correct speed. The car runs and looks fantastic. I tried to get my wife to part with it a year or so ago when I bought her a 2012 Porsche C4S cab manual. She was afraid to drive the Porsche on a regular basis so I sold it on Pcar. I just bought her a BMW 328i convertible manual trans and she loves it. I thought about keeping the Saab as it is such a great example of this model. However, garage space won the battle. There are a couple of minor scratches and dings that you may see in the pics and videos. An 8” piece of the front right under the tray is broken. Everything else under the car is in very nice shape. The exhaust is original and sounds like it should. The has always been garaged. It has been driven in the rain and the original top does not leak. The break pads are about halfway worn. The rotors are in excellent condition. The trans shifts smoothly.”

@crashklein it's a pretty car! But I think the lack of documentation on service is holding it back. A video showing the top going up and down would help too imo, plus images of the headliner when it's up. I can't quite tell but at least one of the tires seems to have a 2006 date code?
I'm a potential bidder but with the reserve in place it's hard to gauge your expectations here.
