Modified by one of the most revered names in high-end Porsche tuning, this 2003 Porsche 996 Turbo Coupe 6-speed was originally delivered new to Porsche West Palm and then sent to Gemballa North America where it received their GTR 550 upgrade package. The car showcases a full custom bodykit as well as Gemballa wheels, brakes, suspension, exhaust, and engine tuning. It also benefits from a more recent OEM transmission replacement which was installed by a Porsche dealer under warranty as well as new custom seat upholstery, professional detailing, and freshly refinished wheels. Showing just over 95k miles on the odometer, this one-of-a-kind Gemballa GTR 550 is now being offered for auction by its fourth owner out of Florida.
This 996 came factory-finished in Carrara White and wears a custom Gemballa bodykit including modified bumpers, side skirts, and a large rear spoiler with integrated air scoops and a high-mounted wing. The car rides on three-piece 18” Gemballa wheels complemented by red-painted Gemballa-branded brake calipers. The rims and calipers were freshly powder coated earlier in 2023 along with a full three-stage exterior paint correction and ceramic coating treatment. The seller notes the front bumper was previously refinished and some very minor imperfections are present on the hood, detailed images are provided in the gallery.
Inside, this Turbo features premium Brown Natural Leather upholstery with optional deviated stitching and carpeting as well as painted hardback Sport Seats, metal door sill model insignias, and aluminum inlays for the leather shifter and brake handle. A set of Gemballa-branded floor mats have been added and the seats and steering wheel were professionally reupholstered with OEM leather in September 2022. The seller adds that the cabin has been professionally detailed and remains in excellent condition with all gauges and accessories working properly.
The twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter Mezger flat-six engine has been tuned by Gemballa and fitted with an upgraded exhaust system resulting in a claimed output of up to 550 HP. All four wheels are driven by way of a 6-speed manual transmission which was newly installed by Porsche of Chandler, AZ, in 2021. The seller adds that the transmission replacement cost approximately $30k and remains covered under a two-year warranty. In addition to engine tuning, this 996 received suspension and braking upgrades from Gemballa as well. Recent service includes a new OEM ABS pump and associated sensors which were installed in October 2022.
This sale will include the original owner’s manuals, service records, and a clean title.

Great looking car. Was hoping to bring it back to AZ. What’s crazy is I’ve lived in Scottsdale since the 90s and I’ve never ran into this car.

@John930 yes oem cats. I dont think you should have any issues.
@sofloracer, I saw that someone asked a question re: the cats and whether the car would likely pass smog in California, but I didn't see a response. I too live in California and would be registering the car in-state, so it would be helpful to know if additional parts/labor would be required to pass smog. Can you provide any insight?

Ok guys I have an 03 tt that I bought here last year in April and I’m pretty close to 650 hp. I don’t like the interior color on this car but it’ll buy it at my price GLWTS these Mezger are amazing engines they don’t make anything like this today
@elafly No worries and good question! I have multiple cars in the stable and have a terrible addiction of constantly looking for new toys. When I found this car, met owner 3, and test-drove it in the canyons outside of Scottsdale, I wasn't going back to Florida without it. Unfortunately, I can't keep everything and another car has popped up on my radar that I got myself excited about. Hope that helps!
Why have you decided to sell? I looked to see if it's stated somewhere but I do not see it, sorry if I missed it.
@Phteven Light bumper scrape on the bounce. No suspension noise at all.
In the driving video, was that a fender liner or bumper hit on the bounce? Suspension noise?
Nice example! GL with sale!
@lacewoodbaylee Good question. I do not know honestly. I was told owner 2 had lightly tracked it in AZ earlier on in his ownership but I can confirm it hasn't seen the track in 10+ years.

How many hours of track time do you figure this car has seen ; just a rough estimate ?
@sofloracer please send content to your pcar rep to add to the listing. We don’t need to direct buyers off of the platform. Thank you
@38ZFX Please refer to the account on Instagram @flagged. There is a cold start captured from the rear uploaded. I keep the car about an hour north of my home in an elevated garage to keep it protected from flooding and will not be able to make it there again before the end of the auction.
@jazzyg72 Yes! I will take care of both before delivery!
I am OCD about keeping my cars covered so I am thinking I would need to be able to lower the wing for the cover - thats all. Any answer on the possibility of getting the rear wing cracks fixed when the side skirt is repaired??
@jazzyg72 Yes! I believe the price will depend on the shop but it should be under $1,000. I personally love the look with the wing up.
@38ZFX please refer to my earlier comments.

@tbs cats are OEM yes, you should be fine. I uploaded the full bill with the parts breakdown. It got a brand new transmission and they took the old core in as an exchange. It whole unit and all parts that were replaced are still under Porsche warranty.

@whistles13 I do not have a recent DME report but uploaded the one from before I purchased it.
Thank you for the info. Any chance the shop doing the repair on the side skirt might be able to repair the cracks on the rear wing at the same time? Do you have an estimate on what it will cost to get the rear wing motor reinstalled and working? I would also be interested to know more about the cats on the exhaust system as well.
@sofloracer
Can you do a cold start with camera sound at the engine? The cold start you showing has some sounds in the background and then they disappear and also while you cranking and it starts the oil pressure gauge drops down and then jumps up?(see oil press gauge) and sound goes away!
Lovely car. Agreed... the DME report would be very helpful. In addition to the engine upgrade info, details about the exhaust modifications would be nice; i.e., are those the OEM cats so that this car might pass a CA smog check? A bit more information about the transmission swap (new, rebuilt, etc.) and if the clutch / components / etc. were done at the same time.
Thanks!
Where is documentation on Gemballa engine upgrade?
Do you have a PPI and DME report?

@jazzyg72 Thank you for your interest and questions. I was told by owner 3 that the tune was installed at Porsche West Palm Beach. You can see on the Carfax that the car received extensive service with "ECU Reprogramming" before final delivery. The side skirt had cracked during a recent tire change on the rear right tire just a couple of weeks ago. I caught a nail and the rear right tire fully deflated. Because of how low the car is, the jack cracked the skirt before lifting the car up. It will be repaired before delivery to the next buyer. As far as the gap in service history, owner 3 told me his brother-in-law (owner 2) was very specific as to who could work on the car and had all work done by Don Jackson Porsche, one of the most reputable shops out of Scottsdale, AZ. I tried to get as much documentation on the car as possible but Owner 3 did not retrieve any service documentation from owner 2 prior to his passing. Additionally, Ive had multiple people reach out to me through Instagram that are familiar with the car and had seen it at car shows in AZ during the 2000s & 2010s.
@Bedwards Yes fully.
@Sonnypatel Gemballa, you can see this on the invoice.
Is the sunroof operational?
@sofloracer what suspension is on the car can you confirm?
@lacewoodbaylee It was difficult to notice with the sun hitting the right side. Please refer to the latest photos I added where you can see both sides are fully operational.

@sofloracer No signs*
Hello all! I just got back from my shop. The coolant lines were inspected and are all original. My mechanic assured me there are signs of any corrosion or leaks and the lines were pinned properly from the factory.
On the walkaround video in the parking garage, the left front and rear lights are on but not the right side. Bad switch or wiring issue ? Just curious, not a huge deal.
@sofloracer It looks like the Gemballa invoice only shows the body kit and exhaust. Do you have the invoice for the GTR 550 tune? I noticed what appears to be damage to the drivers side - side skirt in picture 23? Could you post a new picture showing this in its entirety please? Lastly do you have any information on why there is such a long gap on the repair history of the car on Carfax? That seems odd to me for such a highly respected sports car. Thank you
Hello all, just wanted to give an update. I spoke with my mechanic yesterday and he could not recall whether the coolant lines were pinned/welded or not. My plan was to bring the car over to him today for confirmation, but the summer storms in Florida are in full effect. I will be heading to him first thing in the morning and will have an update by midday. Thank you all for the interest!

@lacewoodbaylee Nope. Dry as a bone.
Thanks for the reply. While you're researching the coolant lines; does she have any typical oil or other fluid leaks ?
@lacewoodbaylee No transmission/clutch issues whatsoever. As far as the coolant lines, I believe they were addressed but I will confirm later on tonight for you.

Would love to like the car I don’t like the interiors at all my 03 has close to 650 hp and triple black the dark night GLWTS
@edgy4sure Its fixed in the up position, see sellers comment below.
is the spoiler raised/activated (as in the pics), or is it fixed in that position?
Have the coolant lines been pinned or welded. Any second gear pop-out issues.
@Kmracing I believe what you're seeing in the photos was caused by the filter that was added. I can assure you the windshield is crystal clear with no haze at all. The camera I used for the videos was an older iPhone so there is some glare/haziness on the whole video.

@Kju434 Wow! Thank you for the insight. I had no idea that production for this color combo was so low. After some digging on rennlist last night, I confirmed those statistics and found that only 8 Carrera white/Natural brown cars were produced in 2003, and none for 04 or 05. I appreciate the comment and support!

@Sonnypatel Thank you for your interest! Just to clarify, I purchased this car from a private seller in Arizona, the brother-in-law of owner 2. Owner 2 enjoyed and maintained the car impeccably for over 13 years and drove it until his passing. His brother-in-law (Owner 3) inherited the car and then listed it for sale. When I purchased the car, it was in perfect mechanical condition but needed some interior/exterior attention which I completed. Best of luck bidding!
Wow, what an amazing build! See you guys at the end of the auction!

Bid in the amount of $6,996
I will be bidding on this and will note I had the opportunity to buy it from the dealer whom this seller bought the car from .
It was in very poor condition at that time and it seems the seller put some effort into reconditioning it.
Unfortunately I don't see this going for a lot (nowhere near six figures and likely half that ) because Gemballa never gets the credit RUF does nowadays.
When it fact RUF and Gemballa should be on the same level.
Very cool car and rare color combo. I’ve done my digging on Carrara white 996TTs. Only 90 U.S. market cars were produced and 23 of those had natural brown leather. Sweet combo!
@sofloracer thanks for the info. What a great car.
@rrysedorph Yes. The Gemballa wing is heavier than the stock wing. If you do not close it gently, it can slam down, which is how I assume the rear 2 sections cracked. It occurred while under previous ownership.
Great looking car. In picture 24, am I seeing the engine cover broken in two sections behind the vents?
@matpatte The previous owner removed the motor for the wing and left it in the up position. I have the motor in my possession and will include it in the sale.
Does the wing operate? It appears all the way up in all photos?
Wow. Love the color combo.

Hello all and welcome to the auction! Here is all the info on the Gemballa:
