We are pleased to present this 2003 Porsche 996 Turbo X50 finished in Lapis Blue Metallic over a Graphite Grey full leather interior. Carrying a highly sought-after twin turbocharged Mezger flat-six engine with the factory optioned X50 Power Kit, this 996 left the factory boasting the same performance figures as Turbo S introduced the following model year. Equipped with custom features including a JRE adjustable suspension, a GT2 decklid and additional carbon fiber interior trim, this 2003 example is an absolute stand-out. It is now being offered for auction by its seller in California with a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity and approximately 32k miles showing on the odometer.
The Lapis Blue Metallic paint is said to be in great condition with minimal signs of wear (detailed images are provided in the photo gallery). This Turbo has been modified with a GT2 rear decklid, and the factory Turbo Twist wheels are retained which come dressed in new Michelin Pilot Sport tires.
The interior is appointed in Graphite Grey full leather with deviated stitching and additional genuine carbon fiber trim throughout the cabin. Other modifications include a Cobb access port, a red Alcantara 997 shift knob, a custom carbon fiber steering wheel and a Pioneer head unit with an integrated backup camera. The seller has confirmed all gauges and accessories to remain fully functional. With an original sticker price of over $145k, this 996 comes outfitted with the following exclusive options:
This 996 carries a legendary twin turbocharged 3.6 L flat-six Mezger engine which features the factory optioned X50 Power Kit making for a stock output of 444 HP. Power is distributed to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission which puts ultimate control in the hands of the driver. Upgrades have been installed including a Cobb performance tune, an Agency Power carbon fiber air intake and an adjustable JRE suspension. Reported to be up to date on all due service, this upgraded 996 Turbo is said to be in fantastic driving condition.
The sale of this Turbo will include two keys, books, service records, tools, certificate of authenticity, the original deck-lid, original center console, original radio, and original suspension. As one of the most sought after Porsche 996 models of all time, this Turbo X50 represents an opportunity that is not to be missed.

@jaynar possibly a spirited last drive. I wouldn’t look negatively at all.

@signalMTB Here’s my interpretation Range 1 was maxed out in the last 3 hours I’ve never seen that before. And it’s within the 50 hour danger window. With that info as Mr. Wonderful would say...I’m out! It’s a pity I love the color and mods.
I didn't see the install tion of a LSD. Did I miss this? Hard to handle all that power without LSD unless driving with PSM.
DME suggests about 80 seconds of Range 2 revs (over 7250 rpms ... assuming no change to redline with the tune) over the life of the car. The last of which was about 6 hours of driving ago. I dont think a DME can tell you when / by proportion of the Range 2 revs happened which is really really what you want to know. Lots of times they are accumulated by selling dealers / test drivers in recent runs. Who's to say here though, it seems to be a track / prior tracked car given the mods (especially the 2wd conversion) so I'd imagine it's seen some time.
The other way to look at this report is: it's spent about 4.5 minutes in Range 1+ range out of 70k minutes. So there's your math lesson for the day. (just felt like the DMEs are always asked for but never interpreted). If someone has a different interpretation, would love to hear it / be corrected / learn from it.

@PCarMartJM Thanks! ?
Now you can feel better jaynar :)!
Bid in the amount of $40,250
I bid and an hour later the DME gets posted haha talk about luck. No way I’ll win though.
@Anandshah84 The listing has been updated.
@Anandshah84 Yes. Everything pictured, plus the parts and components to put it back to AWD. We have the originals. Thanks.
So to be clear, this is currently a 2wd setup? Will it come with all parts to make it awd again?
@jaynar the Turbo passed smog this morning. Will upload the report shortly. Our mechanic will check on the airbag light this afternoon. Thanks.
@ChequeredFlag Forgot to tag my last comment regarding the airbag light.
Just realized in pic 52 that the airbag light is on. Does it just need to be reset from the new steering wheel being installed perhaps?
@jaynar photo added. Thanks.
Bid in the amount of $40,000
@jaynar Yes, DME done yesterday, photo will be submitted shortly and smog is scheduled for tomorrow (Tuesday) morning. Thanks.
Any luck on the DME? Also checking on Smog for a CA buyer.
@signalMTB Everything will come with the sale. Should be pretty straightforward in reinstall.
@ChequeredFlag ... On the driveshaft, are you guys doing the reinstall or are you planning to ship parts with the car?
@signalMTB As for the drive set up, the front axle was removed and replaced with Phoenix engineering spindles but the axles will be provided with the sale. I will get a picture up soon. Thanks!
@ChequeredFlag Our hours are Monday through Friday 8am to 3pm so you're welcome to come in any time. @signalMTB no stock shifter, as of yet. Can't imagine it will show up so safe to say it won't be included, unfortunately. I will reach out to the previous owner and ask about track time. Thanks!
Bid in the amount of $39,650
Seller, asking only because that was missing from the list from the prior sale/When it was on RennList. Is it still in a 2WD setup or did you guys take it back to AWD? Just trying to see how complete it is. The previous owner seemed to have it setup as a track car so the DME will be good (though nothing is absolute). I had an X50 same year as this. They’re great cars when cared for, did the PO indicate any track time?
@signalMTB Is that going to make you bid? Lol omg it’s an extra $350 bid!
Do you have the original shifter?
Can I see this car? I’m in Culver City
Hey @jaynar - We plan on getting all that stuff soon. Scheduled for a DME later tonight so I will update all that when I hear tomorrow. We have a good amount of documentation for the aftermarket parts, as well. Hope to scan all that and update. Thanks!
YUM!
Bid in the amount of $35,000
@ChequeredFlag DME report please. I intend to bid. Also with the current exhaust setup will it pass CA Smog? Drive video? Let’s get all these questions out of the way lol
