Up for auction is this 2003 Porsche 996 Turbo Coupe finished in Black with a removable Grass Green vinyl wrap. Factory equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission paired to a legendary 3.6L Mezger engine, this Turbo has also been upgraded with a Softronic ECU tune, 997 ignition system, Aasco lightweight flywheel, GT2 clutch, an IPD intake plenum, Fabspeed exhaust, a roll bar, Sparco bucket seats, a short shifter, and more. Acquired by the seller in 2020, this 996 has since been fully serviced and is now being offered for auction out of Utah showing approximately 78k miles on the odometer.
This 996 came factory finished in Black and was wrapped in a removable Grass Green gloss vinyl wrap upon the seller’s purchase in 2020. Contrasting Turbo stripe graphics have applied along each side and the mirror housings have been left in their original Black finish. A carbon fiber GT2-style rear wing has been fitted as well. Some chips and hairline cracks are noted on the bumpers and CARFAX shows rear-end damage to have occurred in 2014 with an estimated repair cost of less than $1k. Detailed images are provided in the gallery. The factory 18” Turbo wheels have been painted gloss black and come dressed in a set of Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires dated from 2016.
The Graphite Grey full leather interior features matching Alcantara headliner and has been fitted with a pair of Sparco bucket seats along with a Sparco quick-release steering wheel, roll bar, B&M short shifter, and custom red pedal set. An upgraded Kenwood stereo has been installed and the rear seats have been removed. Some scratches are noted on the ignition surround, and the seller reports dashboard warning lights present for ABS, PSM, and Airbag. The original steering wheel is said to accompany the sale.
This 996 is equipped with a twin-turbocharged 3.6L flat-six Mezger engine that drives all four wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. Offering a claimed output of approximately 520 HP, this engine has received upgraded diverter valves, a Softronic 91-octane ECU tune, Aasco lightweight flywheel, IPD intake plenum, 997 ignition system, and Fabspeed exhaust with high-flow catalytic converters. A new GT2 clutch was installed at 60k miles along with a new pressure plate and slave cylinder. Service carried out more recently in 2020 at 75k miles includes new front brake pads and rotors, a brake fluid flush, new transmission fluid, engine belts, idler pulley, power steering pump, oil change, new battery, and wheel alignment. Images of the undercarriage are provided in the gallery.
This sale will include the original steering wheel and a clean title. Thoroughly serviced and equipped with high-end performance upgrades, this 6-speed 2003 Turbo offers an excellent value for any driving enthusiast.

@944TurboCabrio - The after market steering wheel resulted in the airbag sensor light and the softronic ECU flash results in the ABS/PSM.
@Guchon from the removed Steering wheel?
Bid in the amount of $38,500
@944TurboCabrio - We believe the warning lights to be a result of the modifications that took place. We haven’t made any changes as we figured an enthusiast would want to make their own alterations. The original seats are not present. Cheers.

What is the story on the warning lights? How come such lights have not been taken Care of?
Are the original rear seats still present?

@mineralfarmer - good observation. I wondered what that may be from as well.
Looks like the violent G-forces of the track really amplified the usual keychain marks into a 360-degree circle around the ignition switch LOL!
We're in the final hours, good luck and happy bidding!
looks like a well sorted car, some one will be very happy with it, good luck everyone.

@nyucfsu - We don’t have a full break down of suspension mods since we bought it in its current state but it does seem to be on AST coilovers with dampers (based on our review). I’m happy to do a FaceTime video with the car on the lift. The car definitely feels purpose built and handles like it’s on rails but is suitable for driving on the road as well.
@Guchon Do you have a summary of the suspension mods? This looks like a pretty serious track setup. From the pics, I see RSS control arms and toe steer kit. Are those AST coilovers? For many buyers, these will be positives. I'm just trying to better understand the mods. Thanks and GLWTA!

@Havenhearth I just reviewed the Carfax, it appears car was serviced in 2006 at 42k. New owner added in 2007 at 44k the car was driven about 2k per year and they did state inspection every year and the car got service again in 2011 at 52k. Unfortunately I don’t know the exact answer but I can only assume the owner serviced the car him or herself.
What's the back story to the car not having been serviced for 10K miles between 2006 and 2011 --a period of Five Years?
Was the car off the road? That can't be deduced from the mileage, so any information you can provide would be most appreciated.
Thanks in advance for what help you can provide.
I always find it amusing when people who have never placed a bid ask the ubiquitous “ims “ question- especially when it’s regarding a Mezger engine.
@ExoticrareKia Unfortunately we do not have them. As far as the wrap goes, its covered for year!
Who cares I want it…
@Guchon Do you have service receipts for work done such as clutch, transmission fluid, brakes and engine upgrade? Will you supply them to new owner?
Lastly, how long is the warranty on body wrap?
@Adoptagreatpet lol Turbo's have never been affected by IMS failure. Carrera's only. Totally different engine, totally difference displacement, totally different everything.
@Adoptagreatpet - great question since this is a 996 but the turbo's didn't suffer from IMS issues.
Was an IMS done to this auto. TY
Hello everyone. Seller here. Welcome to my auction and thanks for the early bids. I’ve included detailed pictures showing the condition of the car. It has been tastefully modded by the previous owner. The wrap was done by our dealership.
I’ve driven the car quite a bit myself and mechanically the car pulls really strong and shifts great. Also, the car is free of any leaks or rust.
Feel free to ask any questions and i'll do my best to get them addressed.
Imalwaysq - Thanks! It is a really fun car.
