Up for auction is this 2003 Porsche 996 Turbo finished in Seal Grey Metallic over a black full leather interior. Featuring a legendary twin-turbocharged Mezger engine paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox, this 996 also showcases the factory X50 Power Kit that upgrades the output to Turbo S specifications. This 2003 example is said to have been recently purchased by the seller from its previous owner of 14 years who had purchased the car as a Certified Pre-Owned vehicle from Brumos Porsche. The car spent about 2 years in Hawaii where its former owner was stationed in the Navy, all the while being serviced exclusively by Porsche. Accompanied by service records totaling over $65k, this Turbo is now being offered by its seller in North Carolina with approximately 126k miles showing on the odometer.
The Seal Grey Metallic paint is said to be in fair condition with some weathering on the rear decklid and cosmetic imperfections including two small dents on the driver’s side as depicted in the photo gallery. Some paint is reported to have been peeled up when the previously dealer-installed paint protection film was removed from the front hood. CARFAX also noted damage involving the rear end which is said to have been the result of a minor shopping cart incident. The rear bumper cover is said to have been repainted and the rest of the finish is reported to be original with a recent 2-stage correction performed. Noteworthy features include wide fenders, a rear spoiler, and factory Turbo Twist wheels that come dressed in newly installed Pirelli P-Zero summer tires. 3 of the 4 wheels are said to exhibit curb rash.
Inside, this Turbo features a black full leather interior with the optional Carbon Package. Other specifications listed on the original build sheet include supple leather front and rear seats, front seat heating, a shifter and brake handle in carbon/aluminum, and a remote 6-disc CD changer. The cabin exhibits some patina including slight cracks in the carbon fiber trim and wear on the driver’s seatback. 2 new window regulators were installed in 2018 at a reported cost of $1700. The power-operated rear spoiler is currently inoperable, and a warning light is said to have recently come on which will be addressed by a new mass airflow sensor at the seller’s expense. All other gauges and accessories are said to be fully functional.
This 996 is equipped with a highly revered 3.6 L twin-turbocharged flat-six Mezger engine featuring the factory optional X50 Power Kit which adds a revised tune as well as larger turbochargers and intercoolers. Rated at 444 HP stock, all four wheels are driven by way of a desirable 6-speed manual transmission allowing for a factory 0-60 time of approximately 4 seconds. CARFAX shows regular service carried out by dealerships and records will be included totaling over $65k. The following list of recent maintenance items was provided by the seller:
This 996 will be accompanied by 2 keys, books, extensive service records, and a clean Florida title.

@tnw @stevetheodore should have thrown your hands up!
Just what I was looking for. High mileage car in need of some love. Going to be a fun track toy!
@tnw - similar to you I'm equally surprised that it met reserve. What a deal!
If that really just sold for $31,500 then that is the deal of the century. The cheapest 996 911 turbo 6 speed in the country is $44,000, let alone one with the X50 package.
Sold for $31,500
Did I win?!?! If so I'm very excited!

@collectorcars @collectorcarschicago Hello, reserve is kept private and results are announced shortly after end of auction. Best of luck!
Bid in the amount of $26,000
@collectorcars @collectorcarschicago to my knowledge the platform will not automatically do so it’s up to the sellers discretion.
@seller @pcarmarket does this system indicate reserve met or is that revealed post sale? Thanks
Bid in the amount of $25,000
I had the opportunity to see and drive this car today. The car is very honestly presented and IMO represents a great blend of value and function. Seller is a true enthusiast – the type of person I would want to buy from. The car ran great - gobs of power - very solid driver. I’m keeping my eye on the auction and may jump here depending on how thot this gets.
@TurboSupraGuy It’s an industrial park road. Yes there may have been light gravel on top of the asphalt. The noises are from the road not the car.
@bdonahue54 is something rattling or flapping in the wind in that short driving video? Thought it was road salt or stones but sounded noisey?

@URS6 I wouldn’t consider it unsuccessful. Oxidation was brought to a minimum, but even so, ya can’t put clear back that isn’t there unfortunately!
@Charlie911SC They are both very minor, hard to pick up on camera. I have attached them within the captures in the listing. They are difficult to make out. Yes, I will run up to the car sometime tomorrow and get a better photo.
@Cristma This was when the water pump was replaced. From my understanding it was just the water pump, coolant lines, and fittings, not pinned. I believe that is an engine out service and to my recollection this particular service was not. I will check the invoice and reach back.
Bid in the amount of $20,000
It says that a paint correction was performed. Does that mean the marks on the front and rear deck lids have already tried to have been addressed unsuccessfully? Thank you.
Please provide detail about the two dents. I wasn’t able to identify them in the pictures. Possibly addition pictures with tape or fingers pointing out the dents. Do you have pictures of before and after of the reported parking lot accident damage. Thank you
Maintenance list says coolant lines replaced, but were the engine coolant line fittings addressed as well (pinned or welded)? Thanks.
Bid in the amount of $17,000
Good Morning fellow enthusiasts. Yes, @VertexAuto you hit the nail on the head in terms of description ! This has always been, and should always be a driver. Maintenance was always at the forefront of concern under the care of its prior owner of 14 years so that it could be driven whenever, and wherever he so pleased. The defects embedded in areas of the paint tells its story of living in some of the warmest climates of the country. In short, its not thaaaaat bad. The main area that needs to be addressed is the front clip, where a 2007 era PPF film bonded with the clear coat with great aid from Mother nature. Majority of the discoloration the photos depict is the glue from the film that remained bonded to the surface. Re spray it, wrap it, or leave it and go out and drive the car! I wanted to present the car the way it is. There will be plenty of extra pennies in your pocket to do as you please!
Save for the hydraulic rear wing, everything functions as it should. No leaks, no noises, no rattles, no shakes. Clutch is good. A/C blows cold. Gear shifts are tight and precise. Car never went 5001 miles without a trip to Porsche for a service despite it being regularly driven consistently. I had (4) new Pirelli P Zero Summer Perf sneaks installed less than 50 miles ago. I will be happy to share any further content and information per request. Go bid with confidence !
