Equipped with a twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter Mezger flat-six engine and a 6-speed manual transaxle, this 2003 Porsche 996 Turbo Coupe is presented in Black over a matching full leather interior. At an original sticker price of over $121k, it features optional heated supple leather seats, metal door sills with model insignias, aluminum instrument dials, footwell lighting, stainless-steel exhaust pipes, and carbon fiber and aluminum trim for the shifter and handbrake lever. The car was sold new in Georgia and moved to California in 2008, where it remained until the current owner’s purchase in 2021. Showing approximately 32k miles on the odometer, this 996 Turbo is now being offered for auction out of South Dakota.
The exterior is finished in Black and features Turbo-specific bodywork, including wide fenders with integrated side air intakes, enlarged front radiator grilles, side skirts, lower rear bumper vents, and a rear spoiler with a speed-activated wing. Other equipment includes bi-xenon headlights, aftermarket painted headlamp covers, integrated fog lights, heater power mirrors, an electric sunroof, a rear window wiper, optional stainless-steel quad exhaust tips, tinted taillights, red Porsche-branded brake calipers, and 18” 911 Turbo wheels with Michelin tires. Some minor paint imperfections are noted, including a small bubbled spot near the driver’s side mirror. The seller adds that the car has been kept in a climate-controlled garage and driven approximately 3k miles during their ownership. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The Black full leather interior includes a matching Alcantara headliner, optional supple leather seat upholstery, aluminum instrument dials, metal door sills with model insignias, and carbon fiber and aluminum trim for the shifter and handbrake lever. Other accessories include a three-spoke leather steering wheel, optional heated front seats, automatic climate control, cruise control, a central locking system, an aftermarket Alpine head unit, a Bose sound system, and a Passport radar/laser detector. The factory stereo is included in the sale.
One of Porsche’s most revered engines, the twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter Mezger flat-six is factory-rated at 415 HP and 415 lb-ft of torque. All four wheels are driven through a 6-speed manual transaxle. Standard equipment includes Porsche Stability Management (PSM), Automatic Brake Differential (ABD), and fixed 4-piston brakes with 13” cross-drilled discs at each corner. The seller notes that service records are available, and there are no outstanding maintenance items at this time.
This sale will include a window sticker, owner’s manuals, two keys, service records, a car cover, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “I have owned this car for 3 or 4 years. This is the best handling Porsche I have had to date. I love the manual transmission and the car's flawless shift changes and streamlined steering. The reason I am selling the car is that the climate and roads where I currently live limit my use of it. This Porsche is as nice as they come for the driving experience. The car has been housed in a heated and climate-controlled garage with a trickle charger. All services are up to date.”

Beautiful car. Any driving videos? Just wondering why owner #5 and you drove it so few miles? Were you going to keep this as a show car?
Service records are illustrated on carfax report
@Cedwards I have a brief video showing windows, tail and sunroof. Can't figure out how to download to auction page.
Ughh, those headlight covers are hideous.
@ufobuff When can we expect to see videos and pictures of the service records?
Bid in the amount of $35,000
Beautiful example. The headlight covers gotta go though, getting Del Sol vibes :)
IMS bearing questions, really?!!
@Macattack56 I would assume that the tires aged out rather than wore out from mileage or driving style. I start considering changing my tires on my cars when they are around the 5 year mark and that's what this carfax roughly shows. Also, most of them were done when a new owner registered the car.
@ufobuff Love the almost triple black look with the darker turbo twist wheels. I'd be curious to know what the date code on the current tires are. That will put most people's mind at ease. Tempted to bid on this example, these 996 manual Turbos make great daily drivers year around.
@Macattack56 No Porsche used car inspection. You do not have to do IMS on a turbo. No the cylinders have not been bore scoped. (no reason to do so). Car runs perfect. I don't know where you are getting the tire information. I have not changed tires since I purchased the car. Tires are in great shape.
Hello. Nice looking car. Has the car had a recent Porsche used car inspection? If so, can you post it please. Has the IMS been done? Have the cylinders been bore scoped? In the carfax I am seeing the tires were replaced at just over 5k miles, then again at 11K miles, then again at 23k miles, and again at 29k miles. What drove all of these tire changes?
Thanks
@ufobuff It would also be nice to see the service records before bidding/buying. If you could upload those, it would be appreciated.
@ufobuff: Can we get a picture of the passenger side rear wheel and also pictures of the paint blemishes mentioned?
@jtsherri If it has been lowerde I was not made aware of it when I purchased the car from San Francisco sports cars.
@Autotrend I purchased the car with the C4S front spoiler that is on it. I do not have the original front spoiler.
@Cedwards you are asking great questions. I purchased the car with the upgraded stereo. I have no idea if the speakers and subwoofer were replaced. No Curb rash. Has same tires I purchased the car with. Tires look new.
yes rear spoiler works properly. Sunroof works perfectly. Windows work perfectly. I purchased the car with the Headlight covers. I love this Porsche. It handles so well. I will work on a couple of videos.
I second the question regarding the ride height. A few additional questions:
--Is that a stereo amp in the frunk? If so, what are the detail on the existing stereo set up (e.g., does it have aftermarket speakers/subwoofer)?
--Is there curb rash on any of the wheels?
--How old are the tires and how much life is left on them?
--Does the rear spoiler work correctly? If so, can we get a video?
--Does the sunroof work correctly? If so, can we get a video?
--Do the windows work correctly? If so, can we get a video?
--What is the story on the headlight covers?
Thanks! Time to upgrade from my 2002 911 base and this looks like the perfect opportunity to do so.
I think that many 996!turbo owners (like me) have replaced the front spoiler as a consumable. The 4CS spoiler lasts longer and a Turbo spoiler is easily sourced.
do you have the correct front spoiler for the car? the one on it is for a C4S. this one raises up in the center section whereas the turbo spoiler goes straight across the front.
It looks like this car has been lowered. Are any details available?
