Combining naturally aspirated power with the styling, brakes, and all-wheel-drive system of the 911 Turbo, this 2003 Porsche 996 Carrera 4S Coupe equips a 6-speed manual transmission. It comes finished in Black over matching full leather upholstery and features supple leather seats, lowered seats (-10mm), the Bose High-End Sound Package, and the Aluminum/Chrome Package. Showing approximately 91k miles on the odometer, this C4S is now being offered for auction by its seller out of New York.
The Carrera 4S features broader fenders compared to the base Carrera, along with Turbo-style bumpers, a distinctive reflector band connecting its taillights, and red brake calipers. Finished in Black, this example features adding stainless steel exhaust pipes as part of the optional Aluminum/Chrome Package. It rides on factory 18” 911 Turbo wheels with colored Porsche center crests. The seller mentions minor imperfections on the front bumper and confirms regular handwashing & waxing since acquiring the vehicle in 2023. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin is trimmed in Black full leather with optional seats lowered by 10mm, seat heating, Porsche-crested headrests, and supple leather upholstery. Additional options include the Bose High-End Sound Package, aluminum/leather shifter and brake handle appointments, and the Aluminum/Chrome Package accenting the instrument dials and door sills. Other features include an electric sunroof, automatic climate control, cruise control, a CD storage compartment, and a Porsche CDR-23 stereo.
Powered by a naturally aspirated 3.6-liter flat-six engine generating 320 HP and 273 lb.-ft of torque, this Carrera 4S distributes power to all four wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. The seller states the IMS bearing and rear main seal were replaced under the previous ownership. All maintenance items are said to be up to date, and some service documentation will accompany the sale. The Porsche Classic Technical Certificate indicates a non-matching engine casing number, as shown in the gallery.
This sale will include a clean title (lien), owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a spare tire, and some documentation.
The seller would like you to know: “Thank you very much for visiting my auction. I purchased my black/black 996 C4S in May 2023 from Napleton Westmont Porsche and have driven it less than 2,000 miles. At that time, the car had remained in a temperature-controlled garage, where I would occasionally take it out for a Sunday drive with my wife. The car handles extremely well, turns heads at every stop light, and sounds incredible with the Fabspeed exhaust. Note that the IMS bearing and rear main seal were replaced with the factory option by the previous owner. All maintenance is up to date, and I have not had any issues with this car whatsoever. It's an absolute pleasure to drive.”

@Gregory Thank you for your comments. It’s a beautiful, well loved, car indeed.
to paddle911 comment- Agree. Need to find out when the engine was replaced. It could be that when they went in there at 83K miles everything (clutch) showed so little wear it wasn't worth replacing, could of course you would, or...not? Either way, beautiful car with hopefully lower mileage engine, new from Porsche?
Bid in the amount of $24,996
Note, I have not yet heard back from Westmont Porsche on further details around the IMS/additional clutch work. I’ll message them again today to follow up.
@REC1616 thanks for the quick update. The car looks great I hope to buy it.
Thank you sportscarguy3 & Paddle911 for your messages. I just reached out to Porsche of Westmont to see if they have more details around these questions. As of right now, I only have what was provided on the paperwork but will try to see if they have other details to share.
When I purchased the car last May, they confirmed multiple times the IMS work was done previously (with factory option) but didn't share at what mileage (good question btw). I don't remember having a conversation around the related clutch parts.
The car drives, shifts, brakes, corners, and accelerates very well for what it's worth.
Hello, and agree a good looking 996 C 4S
Like the other registered, bidder, paddle 911, I am very interested in the details of this IMS, bearing replacement or non-replacement, as well as all the other parts easily accessible when the motor is dropped for the IMS work
It will certainly make a difference to me in bidding if these factory parts all have 90,000 miles on them
Thank you for the information
Great looking 996 4s!
Just to clarify, if we look at the posted documentation about the IMS, at 83,750 miles, a dealership dropped the transmission, removed/disassembled all of the clutch parts to access and then visually inspect the IMS. They saw what they believed to be a replacement bearing installed that was a replacement using the factory IMS bearing type (not an upgraded one like an LN, etc), which they then reinstalled. We don't know when this replacement factory bearing was initially installed, correct? It could have been 20, 40, 60k miles ago?
While they were in there, and for no additional labor, they didn't replace any common wear clutch parts that had 87k of miles on them?
Thanks.
@elarde.builders Thank you for your note. I just uploaded the IMS records Westmont Porsche provided when I purchased the car. They are found at the end of the photo gallery.

Do you have documentation from Westmont Porsche regarding the IMS and rear main seal replacement? I’m in NW Chicago suburbs.
Wonder if they set the rear camber and toe correctly for lowered springs or rear tires will only last a little of 3k miles.
@Mrbognar this is going to get bloody lol

@Jlong122 confirmed the car is on lowering springs with stock struts.
@REC1616 Thanks very much for your response and for offering to take a look and follow up.
@JWantsaPorsche love the username! Good luck with your bidding.
@VertexAuto thank you for your message. The only records regarding this point are what is mentioned in the Porsche technical certificate. I can post the other page of the certificate shortly but I do not have any other records/history unfortunately.
@Jlong122 Thank you for your message! The car does look like it is slight lower than stock height but I'm not sure what the setup is and Porsche Napelton didn't have any records of suspension work to my knowledge. I can try and take a look at the car later on today to see if I can visually tell.
To confirm, the engine has been changed and is not matching numbers? Do you know who did the work? Do you have the service records for it?
@Dom33 Good luck to you too. We'll see who comes up on top in 4 days and 3 hours.

@Lombard_RAC Thank you @Lombard_RAC! This indeed has been an incredible driver. The PSE button is no longer active, since the Fabspeed exhaust was installed.
Hello and welcome to my 996 4S auction! As a long time collector of 911s, I have always admired this particular version in the Porsche lineup. Owning this car has been a dream come true and I'm only selling due to a home renovation project. This particular example is very clean, drives and shifts smoothly, and stand out everywhere it goes. I've always stored this car in a climate controlled garage and just recently had the oil changed for the sale. I'm happy to help answer any questions you might have and wish everyone good luck! Thank you again for showing interest.
Nice driver for sure,
Is the PSE button still active or is that now mute with the Fabspeed exhaust?
