Up for auction is this 2003 Porsche 996 Carrera 4S finished in Seal Grey Metallic over a Graphite Grey leather interior. This 2003 example features an updated 997.1 engine that was reportedly installed under warranty at 36k miles by an authorized Porsche dealer under previous ownership. Highlighting a refined Tiptronic S automatic transmission and some noteworthy recent service items including a complete suspension refresh, this Carrera 4S is now being offered by its current owner out of Tennessee with approximately 131k miles showing on the odometer.
The Seal Grey Metallic exterior is reported to be in great condition for its age with a few minor imperfections and typical road-going wear (detailed images are provided in the photo gallery). Very recently, this 996 had its passenger side rear quarter panel professionally refinished and blended into the door to address a small rust blemish located near the sill. As a 4S variant, this Carrera shares the widened body styling of the Turbo model with revised bumpers and a distinctive rear reflector strip. This example rides on factory 18” Turbo Design wheels which remain in good shape with some minor paint flaking. The seller indicates that new Michelin Pilot Sport tires were installed up front in 2016 with new rear tires installed in 2017.
Inside, you will find a Graphite Grey full leather interior which is stated to be in very good condition given the age of the car, however, the handbrake shows some signs of wear and the soft-touch coated surfaces also exhibit some typical degradation. This Carrera 4S showcases the factory optional Bose High End Sound Package as well as the Xenon Headlamp Package. All gauges and electrical components are reported to be fully functional.
This 996 carries an updated type M97 997.1 3.6 L flat-six engine, which was believed to have been installed under warranty at an authorized Porsche dealership at 36k miles. A Tiptronic S automatic transmission distributes 315 HP to all four wheels making for a 0-60 time of approximately 5 seconds. The IMS outer bearing seal is said to have been removed in order to improve oil flow per the recommendation of a mechanic. All routine service is up-to-date and this 4S also benefits from a recent full suspension refresh which was carried out within the last 1k miles. This 996 is said to drive beautifully with a detailed list of service items addressed under current ownership also included in the photo gallery.
Accompanying the sale of this Carrera 4S are a set of two keys with new key heads (one of which is upgraded to Carrera GT style), a clear title, books, service records from the current ownership, tools, a wheel lock key and rubber floor mats. With some considerable recent service items and an updated 997 power plant, this Carrera 4S is ready to be enjoyed by a new owner.

In regard to the IMS bearing seal being removed as stated in the listing. I spoke with Jake Raby who is well known for building Porsche engines and he recommended to remove the outer seal of the bearing so oil would flow through it as the 997 bearing is not serviceable and cannot be removed without splitting the engine apart.
Good evening everyone, I am the seller of this 996 C4S. If you have any questions feel free to let me know and I will do my best to answer them for you. One thing I just remembered that I forgot to put in my service records is that I installed Light Savers on the rear lights. For those of you who don't know what those are it is to reinforce the plastic mounting tabs for the rear lights as they crack over time.
