This 2003 Mercedes-Benz S55 AMG comes finished in Brilliant Silver Metallic over a Graphite/Anthracite AMG leather interior. The S55 AMG debuted in the 2000 model year as the high-performance AMG version of the W220 S-Class sedan, featuring a hand-built supercharged 5.4-liter V8 producing nearly 500 HP along with larger brakes and a sport-tuned Active Body Control (ABC) suspension. Stored indoors and meticulously cared for by its longtime owner, this S55 is now being offered for auction out of Tennessee with under 33k miles on the odometer.
This example comes finished in Brilliant Silver Metallic with an AMG-specific front fascia, side skirts, V8 Kompressor badging on the front fenders, and quad chrome exhaust tips. Other details include bi-xenon headlamps with washers, an electric sunroof, silver-painted brake calipers with black AMG lettering, and 18” AMG split five-spoke wheels. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The interior is upholstered in Graphite/Anthracite AMG leather accented by burred walnut wood trim. Amenities include heated and ventilated power-operated front seats with massage functions and 3-position memory, heated rear seats, automatic climate control, a sunroof, a power rear sunblind, a heated windshield washer system, power closing doors, and a Comand DVD unit with navigation. The seller confirms all gauges, electronics, and accessories are working properly.
The handcrafted 5.4-liter supercharged V8 was factory rated at 493 HP and 516 lb.-ft of torque, sent to the rear wheels through a 5-speed automatic transmission with sport mode and Speedshift buttons mounted to the steering wheel. The S55 AMG can accelerate to 60 MPH in 4.5 seconds and reach an electronically governed top speed of 155 MPH. Performance features include cross-drilled 14.2" discs with 8-piston calipers at the front, 13" rear discs with 4-piston calipers at the rear, and the Active Body Control suspension which electronically increases spring rates to aid against body roll. The seller adds that this vehicle has only been serviced by authorized Mercedes-Benz dealers.
This sale will include a clean title.

@WestonCarGuy I believe last oil change was over year a go
Reminder to get service
Any notes on the weak spot - suspension. Thank you
Instrument cluster shows car needs service (double wrench icons on digital readout below speedometer). Could you tell us what service it’s due for (A/B)? Thanks - great looking car
@coldcutking212 There goes Christmas. :) Thanks for the info.
@GOBartender I can tell you as an owner of several of these cars that it is a factory cup holder that ONLY came on US 2003 models. Not sure why they did that but I’m certain of this. Unless you have an 03, you won’t be able to connect it to the seat base
Ungainly as it appears, I'd still love to know where the passenger side cupholder was sourced.
agree with jacksunoco. i own 4 porsches, one being a GT3, and thi9s merc will really surprise you with it stability through sweepers at high speed. the ABC suspension is phenomenal. i took a u-turn under an overpass this morning a bit quicker than normal and the active bolsters kicked in to keep me from sliding around. for the purchase price, these are fantastic cars - which can have an expensive appetite for repairs from time to time. 500hp on tap is always nice.
Give it some respect guys!!

An indoor stored, dealer serviced, under 35k mile example of one of the most enjoyable cars one may ever own pulls a $2,500 opening bid? Tough crowd.

This is a 4 door 911 Turbo- I own a 2004 S-55 and a 2001 996 Turbo. This big sedan with a mild tune can run neck and neck with the Turbo and handling to back it up . Just drove from NY to Miami Beach in 16 hours. This thing idles at 125 mph , one of the best kept secrets. You can’t be disappointed, it’s just that good. It puts a smile on your face when you’re cruising and just tap the gas pedal and the thing just goes !
