The Land Rover Discovery is a classic luxurious seven-seat SUV produced since 1989. This second-generation 2003 Discovery (known as Series II) offers the highest available HSE trim and is finished in dark blue metallic over a black leather interior. It features a 4.6-liter V8 engine that powers all four wheels through an automatic transmission and dual-range transfer case along with several off-roading modifications. This Discovery is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Massachusetts showing approximately 71k miles on the odometer.
This Discovery is finished in a dark blue metallic shade. Modifications include a lift kit, roof rack, front bar, and light grilles. Other exterior features include front and rear mudflaps, a rear-mounted ladder, a step below the rear bumper for easy ladder access, a rear-mounted spare tire, “HSE7” badging on the front fenders, and a single exhaust outlet. It rides on six-spoke 18″ alloy wheels dressed in new General Grabber A/TX tires from 2022. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The interior is upholstered in black leather accented by wood trimming along the dash and a tan cloth headliner. Features include heated and power-adjustable front seats, dual-zone automatic climate control, and a Harman-Kardon audio system. All gauges, electronics, and accessories are reported to be working properly.
This Discovery is equipped with an aluminum 4.6-liter V8 engine that produces up to 217 HP and 300 lb.-ft of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels via a four-speed automatic transmission and dual-range transfer case. The seller states a comprehensive service including fresh fluids was performed prior to the listing. The CARFAX report shows a total of 15 service history records.
This sale will include a clean title, owner’s manuals, and a spare tire.
The seller would like you to know: “This rover drives unbelievably nice, on or off road. Free of any squeaks and rattles. Has been gone through in and out, no rust underneath, just an amazing condition Discovery”

@BrabusBoston thank you for the transparency. Now to decide how much I want another DII and the love/hate relationship!
@nhskibm hi again, we will get the bottoms of the doors pictured and uploaded in the next 20 minutes. We don't know a ton about the history other than the previous owner drove and serviced this vehicle for approximately 5 years. He is a local euro mechanic near our location and has purchased many vehicles from us for himself and his family. He did say he has done all maintenance, wires, plugs, gaskets, water pump etc over his years of ownership and it shows in the way this Rover shows and drives. We do not have records of these items. We did however do all the fluids, service and new tires here. As for the lift, it is only a basic 2 inch suspension lift but shows a world of difference with these tires! Hope this info help GLWTA , this vehicle will not disappoint the lucky new owner.
@nhskibm Hi there, the carfax is being resolved as we speak. We took the car on trade from its previous owner unseen at the time. Unfortunately , one of our team members took the " it has about 76k miles I think" literally and entered the info into our inventory. We caught this days ago and filed the correct information with carfax for the update of the correct miles. This does happen from time to time with trades but is an easy fix. We absolutely guarantee a clean carfax with the corrected miles showing for the next owner.
@YAFA we will do our best to accommodate but it would require us to get the car up on a lift. Will do what we can!
Also, good 'ole carfax says 76k - odo has 71k... any story there?
Bid in the amount of $7,750
Hey seller, serious bidder here as I sold this exact spec a few years ago and miss it.
Some requests:
- pics of bottom of all doors
- same question on better pics of frame - especially by tranny
- any history of head gaskets being done?
- cold start video with camera pointed at exhaust at startup
- any history of the three amigos being done?
- any idea what lift was used - springs and shocks?
Great looking example but missing some key things. I’ve had two and replaced 3 motors between the two along with tens of thousands of other parts. To know these is to love them / and have your heart broken by ones not properly maintained.
Bid in the amount of $7,500
@Brabusboston would you please record a video going through out the frame and chasis to understand the current conditions of rust? It appears to be way more than superficial in the pictures, although is hard to tell due to the spay coating that has on it. Thanks
Bid in the amount of $7,000
Bid in the amount of $6,750
Bid in the amount of $6,500
@ctmuch12 the height including rack is 7 1/2 ft at its tallest point (91 inches)
Any idea what the standing height of the vehicle is including rack?
Bid in the amount of $6,000
@Bluegill thank you for your question. The frame has not been touched from what we can tell, aside from the protective coating
@WaltNYC Thank you for your question. The frame rails appear and feel solid. There is some surface rust as you pointed out on image 86, that's not uncommon on these. The frame is very clean.
How much of the frame has been replaced or repaired (plated)?
Bid in the amount of $5,555
Bid in the amount of $3,500
How are the frame rails on either side of the gas tank?
Has the frame been painted or treated? It looks that way. (see pic 86 where a spot is not painted on the rear trailing arm)
Bid in the amount of $3,000
Bid in the amount of $2,750
