The 2003 Indian Chief Vintage boasts classic Indian motorcycle styling including handcrafted leather saddlebags, a vintage-cut windshield, chrome tips along its elegantly sweeping fenders, and classic lines along its fishtail muffler. Finished in Century Red with black leather, this example is now being offered for auction by its seller showing just under 10k miles on the odometer.
This example comes finished in Century Red. Design cues include a distinctive vintage-cut windshield, clear-lens driving lights, black and chrome trim pieces, and handcrafted black leather luggage. The leather seat is embossed with an Indian designation, and the saddlebags wear Indian script, chrome buckles and buttons, water-resistant liners, and leather fringe. Other details include die-cast tips for the trademark deep-valence fenders and an ornate die-cast aluminum horn cover over the low-tone Fiamm horn. A set of other OEM manufacturer wheels are dressed in Harley Davidson Dunlop tires, dating 2004 up front and 2019 in the rear. The seller notes slight signs of wear are present, detailed images are provided in the gallery.
Power is derived from an air-cooled 100-cubic-inch (1638cc) 45-degree Powerplus engine featuring distinctive rounded and serrated rocker boxes and a single Mikuni carburetor with a scalloped airbox. Performance features include rising-rate rear suspension, Paioli 41mm fork legs, and four-piston Brembo brakes. The seller reports the engine was replaced in December 2006, and the starter motor was replaced in January 2007. The seller also recommends an oil change and repairs to the rear brake and belt upon the next owner's purchase.
This sale will include a clean title, a motorcycle jack, and some documentation.

@bavarianauto1 @bavarianauto1: when the engine was replaced do you have any documentation showing that it was a Blackhawk upgraded/improved/ & debugged engine and not another with the inherent flaws? In one photo it shows a cam cover with Blackhawk's insignia but the Blackhawk engines I've seen have a large rectangular plate between the cylinders stating it as such. It may be in your interest to contact the previous owner if he has such paperwork.
@artichoke @artichoke.. the previous owner wanted to upgrade the engine and piston size for the bike and it is a manual, that was a mistake on my part thank you for pointing that out.

BEAUTIFUL BIKE!! but... I suggest anyone tempted to bid, first google 2003 Indian Motorcyle engine complaints. It is catastrophic. That said, it appears that Blackhawk Motor Works in Palm Bay, Florida has the fix.
@bavarianauto1 Why was the engine replaced and is it really an automatic?

@artichoke @artichoke, The bike is in good condition and runs well, it's never been dropped.
Any issues with the bike? Had it ever been dropped?
Any issues with the bike at all? Has it ever been dropped?
