We are pleased to present this 2003 Ford F-150 Lighting finished in Sonic Blue over a Medium Graphite cloth interior. The second-generation Lighting was introduced for the 1999 model year and was developed by Ford’s special vehicle team using the PN96 platform. Having held the title of “World's Fastest Production Truck” during its five-year production run, the Lighting was offered only with a single cab, rear-wheel drive, a 6½' bed, 4-speed automatic transmission, and a supercharged 5.4L Triton V8. This 2003 example is accompanied by an SVT certificate identifying it as #618 out of 4,270 trucks produced. Serviced and aligned in preparation for this sale, this Ford Lightning had been cared for by the same owner since 2005 and is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Florida showing just under 50k miles on the odometer.
This F-150 comes finished in Sonic Blue and is described to present very well with only minor imperfections throughout. Some unique characteristics of the Lighting model include a specialized front fascia with integrated round fog lamps, unique upper and lower grilles, and front lower air deflectors as well as side-exit exhaust outlets and clear taillights. The 18” SVT wheels are exclusive to the Lighting come dressed in a set of Nitto NT555 tires. Additional images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The seats are trimmed in Medium Graphite cloth with black leather inserts and SVT-embroidered backrests. Features include a six-way power-adjustable driver seat, a folding center console with integrated cup holders, cruise control, air conditioning, a six-disc CD stereo, and power windows and power locks. The seller notes some wear on the passenger seat bolster as well as slight fading on the door panels.
Power comes from a 5.4L Triton SOHC V8 equipped with an Eaton M112 supercharger, forged crankshaft and rods, and lower compression pistons, producing up to 360 HP and 440 lb.-ft of torque. The rear wheels are driven by way of a 4-speed Ford 4R100 overdrive automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential. With this powertrain, the Lighting is capable of accelerating from 0-60 MPH in approximately six seconds to a top speed of 140 MPH. To improve handling, the Lightning came lowered from the factory and fitted with Monroe shocks and stiffer sway bars. The CARFAX report shows a major service to have been carried out in July of 2021 which included a new fuel filter, vehicle speed sensor, transmission output speed sensor, oxygen sensor, idler pulley, front and rear brakes, a fuel injection system service, and a wheel alignment.
This sale will include a clean title, Ford SVT certificate, and official correspondence from Ford Performance Headquarters. One of the most collectible sport pickups of all time, this F-150 Lightning is a true future classic.
