Making its debut in 2003, the Silverado SS was offered as a high-performance version of Chevrolet’s first-generation Silverado pickup and featured all-wheel-drive, a 4:10 final drive ratio, lowered Z60 performance suspension, and disc brakes as standard equipment along with a 6.0-liter Vortec High-Output V8 shared with the second-generation Cadillac Escalade. This launch-year example is finished in Victory Red and is now being offered for auction by its seller out of New York while showing just over 57k miles on the odometer.
The SS model can be distinguished from a standard Chevy Silverado by its lack of chrome trim and a lowered ride height as well as the presence of aluminum-colored air ducts on the lower front bumper, a color-keyed grille, and “SS” badges on the doors and tailgate. This example is finished in Victory Red and rides on factory 8.5” x 20” aluminum sport wheels. The seller notes some clear coat is peeling. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The black interior features power-adjustable leather-covered front bucket seats and a matching rear bench seat. Accessories include a leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel, dual-zone air conditioning, power windows and mirrors, a central locking system, keyless entry, cruise control, and a sound system with an AM/FM CD cassette stereo. The seller reports all gauges and accessories are fully functional.
The Silverado SS comes equipped with a GM 6.0-liter Vortec High-Output V8 rated at 345 HP and 380 lb.-ft of torque. A 4-speed automatic transmission sends power through a full-time all-wheel-drive system including a viscous limited-slip center differential and a locking rear differential with a 4:10 axle ratio. The truck comes standard with four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes and a Z60 performance suspension with front torsion bars, four-stage rear leaf springs, front and rear stabilizer bars, and monotube shocks at all corners. The CARFAX report shows 14 service history records including new front wheel bearings and hubs in 2019.
This sale will include owner’s manuals and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “Thank you for visiting my auction would like to present this beautiful Chevrolet Silverado SS with one of the lowest miles available on the market at this time with any questions I’m here to help at any time”
