A purpose-built drag racer, this 2003 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 was custom-built by a professional racing shop featuring a turbocharged LSX V8 that produces over 1,100 HP at the rear wheels. It boasts an 8.80-second quarter-mile pass at 160 MPH on low boost and comes outfitted with a brand new Menscer suspension and Wavetrac differential. This formidable Z06 drag car is said to have been built to the highest standards and is now being offered for auction by its second owner out of New York with approximately 22k miles on the chassis.
This fifth-generation Corvette has been recently refinished in a custom pearl yellow paint color and wears a fiberglass VFN cowl-induction hood with Dzus lift-off fasteners. The front license plate insert features a custom duct for the turbocharger and the front fenders are modified for side-exit exhaust pipes. A Stroud parachute is mounted at the rear and the car rides on Weld beadlock wheels with M/T 275 Pro radial tires at the rear. The seller notes all factory glass remains in place. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
Inside, the cabin has been fitted with a custom roll cage, a Kirkey SFI driver’s seat, a 5-point safety harness, and an SFI window net. Other racing equipment includes custom electrical and switch panels, a master cutoff switch, a fire suppression system, and a Holley digital dash. The seller adds that the cabin retains a mostly stock appearance with functional power accessories.
The 430ci LSX V8 engine is said to have been designed, machined, and assembled by BTR Performance and includes a Callies DragonSlayer crank, GRP 1100 Pro aluminum rods, Carillo pistons, ARP hardware, custom billet valve covers, a custom cam, and Mast Motorsports heads. The forced induction system uses an 88mm Garrett turbocharger fed by custom headers and includes Holley dual-valve CO2 boost control, TiAL blowoff valves and wastegates, and a custom air-to-water intercooler with an ice tank. The engine is optimized for C16 racing fuel and runs off a Holley Dominator ECU. It should be noted that all cylinders demonstrate about 150psi in a compression test except for cylinder 1 which shows approximately 50psi. This compression test was taken prior to both the cold start (taken 4/22/23) and driving videos (Fall 2022), and the seller adds that the car remains fully operational.
A claimed output of over 1,100 HP is sent to the rear wheels through an RPM Transmissions Turbo 400 3-speed automatic gearbox featuring a manual valve body, a transbrake, a Coan 3200 stall converter, an SFI flexplate, a new Wavetrac differential, heavy-duty axles, and a Biondo C02-actuated shifter. The suspension has been heavily modified and includes new Menscer coilovers and adjustable front travel limiters. New drilled and slotted brake rotors have also been installed and a collection of spare parts accompanies the sale including extra hardware, fluids, fittings, electrical components, and more. A comprehensive specifications list can be found in the gallery.
This sale will include a clean title and a collection of spare parts.

@Dom33 : Even a Bugatti usually doesn't have 1,500hp! I think the Veyron was right around 1,000 if I recall!
Bid in the amount of $15,000
From my projections, this does a 1/4 mile faster than a Bugatti.. wild!!

@burnrubr :
I responded to your second comment, but its not appearing, so apologies for double-posting if it shows up twice:
It is designed to run on C16 racing fuel. However, it can be moved around on 93 octane for off-track operation if needed.
Regarding legality, it is not currently legal in New York due to the installation of the Holley Dominator ECU. Additionally, the headlights have been removed (and the passenger side
headlight space is occupied by the ice box for the intercooler, the cover pops off for access). However, it does have bright blue fog lights for after-dark visibility. Obviously, all bidders are responsible for verifying the legality within their respective state(s). Hope this helps.
@burnrubr : When your doctor asked what you did to get your heart racing this year, send him the link! haha
is it still street legal? type of fuel requirement?
the sound of this groundpounder is enough to raise anybody's heartbeat! good luck!
