Sought-after by enthusiasts and collectors alike, the E46-generation BMW M3 is coveted for its distinctive styling, refined handling, and high-revving S54 inline-six engine. This 2003 example is an M3 Coupe finished in Steel Grey Metallic over Black Nappa Leather upholstery and features a 6-speed manual transmission, optional xenon headlights, Park Distance Control, a Harman/Kardon sound system, and the Premium and Cold Weather Packages. The car was sold new in California and remained in the state until 2023 before moving to North Carolina where the selling dealer purchased it. Benefitting from some recent service including new differential mounts and trailing arm bushings, the E46 M3 is now being offered for auction out of Massachusetts with approximately 33k miles showing on the odometer.
The M3 features unique bumpers and wider fenders than a standard E46 3-Series as well as side skirts, fender vents, a hood bulge, rounded aerodynamic mirrors, and a rear valence with quad exhaust outlets. This Coupe is finished in Steel Grey Metallic (400) and includes gloss black Shadowline trim, optional xenon headlamps with washers, a power-operated glass sunroof, and Park Distance Control sensors. Other equipment includes a trunk lid spoiler, fog lights, LED taillights, and 19” Style 67 M double-spoke wheels dressed in Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires. The seller indicates the front bumper has been refinished. Detailed images and paint meter readings are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin features Black Nappa Leather upholstery complemented by a matching headliner and Brushed Aluminum Shadow trim. Accessories include heated and power-operated front sport seats, a three-spoke M sport leather steering wheel with tri-color stitching, an M sport shift knob and footrest, M3-branded door sills and floor mats, power windows and mirrors, automatic climate control, cruise control, a navigation system, and a Harman/Kardon sound system. The seller indicates signs of wear on the driver’s door panel.
Featuring double-VANOS variable valve timing and individual throttle bodies, the aspirated 3.2-liter S54 inline-six engine delivers up to 343 HP and 262 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The battery was replaced in 2022 and service in 2023 is said to have included new trailing arm bushings, differential mounts and bushings, pinion seals, a new fuel pump seal, and a brake fluid flush. The seller adds that the rod bearings were replaced under recall in the early 2000s.
This sale will include original sales literature, two keys, a toolkit, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: "Vachon Motor Company purchased the car in May of 2023. Subsequent maintenance and repairs to refresh the car were made including a new Alcantara shift boot and M shifter, a new Alcantara headliner, new front bumper reflectors, a new titanium passenger dashboard trim piece, a new driver-side grille, an oil change was performed, the subframe was inspected and no issues were found, the differential was serviced, new rear view mirror glass was fitted, new lugnuts were put on the car, all four wheels were professionally refinished, a new truck handle was installed and a new OEM spoiler. The original paint on the hood showed signs of sun damage and was repainted to match the OEM color. Paint meter photos are available and an invoice of all the work completed is included, along with other various service records, 2 keys, the owner's manual, a clean Carfax, and only 33,000 original miles. This car runs and drives like brand new and being fully loaded with just about every factory option in 2003 in this rare Steel Gray Metallic Color, (1/400 coupes produced from 01-03), this car is a real head turner and a pleasure to drive. Out of the big three (Vanos, rod bearings and subframe) the Vanos has not been completed due to the low millage of the car, the rod bearings were done under warranty and the subframe was inspected and shows no sign of cracking."

@TubeGuy great car that I would love to drive the hell out of. There was an Imola Red example that did NMR at 28k on BAT not too long ago. Market has certainly softened and the auction results show.

Worth every penny. Honest car in excellent condition. Use some Leatherique on the leather and enjoy. Going through all my cars I've owned including Ferraris...even a Challenge Stradale, this car sticks out as winning my heart along with my Giulia QV.
