Equipped with an S54 inline 6-cylinder engine paired with a 6-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential, this 2003 BMW E46 M3 is finished in Carbon Black Metalic over a matching Nappa leather interior and features the optional Premium Package, xenon headlamps, Premium Harman-Kardon Sound System, and polished 19" M Double Spoke wheels. Having been registered in California since 2005, this M3 is now being offered auction by its seller out of Arizona with approximately 40k miles showing on the odometer.
The M3 receives unique bodywork compared to a standard E36 3-Series Coupe including more aggressive bumpers, side skirts, fender vents, a rear spoiler, a hood bulge, round mirrors, and high-gloss Shadowline trim. This Coupe is finished in Carbon Black Metallic with factory optional 19” Style 67 M Double Spoke polished wheels. Other equipment includes optional xenon headlamps, fog lights, polished quad exhaust tips, and pop-out rear quarter windows. The seller notes some minor rock chips have been touched up around the exterior and the tires should be replaced due to age. The CARFAX report shows no prior damage or accidents, although the vehicle was recovered after theft in 2004.
Accented by dark Titan Shadow trim, the Black Nappa leather interior includes optional heated power-adjustable front sport seats with lumbar support and driver memory, a three-spoke M steering wheel, an M Sport footrest and gear knob, M3-branded door sills, and M-specific instrumentation. Other accessories include automatic climate control, cruise control, power windows and mirrors, a central locking system, an electric moonroof, and an optional Premium Harman-Kardon Sound System with 10 speakers and 2 subwoofers. Some signs of wear are present on the driver’s seat and the radio display has three dead pixels. All gauges and accessories are said to be fully functional.
Producing up to 333 HP and 269 lb.-ft of torque, the E46 M3’s 3.2-liter S54 inline-six engine features individual throttle bodies, quasi-dry sump lubrication, and double-VANOS variable valve timing. The rear wheels are driven through a 6-speed manual transmission and limited-slip differential. An oil change was recently completed, and all known service history is provided on the CARFAX report.
This sale will include owner’s manuals, a toolkit, an air pump, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “This vehicle is a very clean example of a nice 6-Speed M3. These are getting harder and harder to find.”

@spencerberke. Thank you for the positive feedback!
I love seeing photos of a car out in the sun and also in the shade, helps a lot to understand the paint condition and actual color of the car. Nice work on the photographs. Paint looks stellar. Good luck to the seller and buyer.
@potorac75 I do not have any info on the report on CarFax. With oil changes and services on CarFax not all dealership will report to CarFax, for instance, the local Mercedes Benz store here did not start reporting until about 2 years ago, also, if it was maintained at an independent BMW shop it would not report. You are more than welcome to have a Pre Purchase Inspection completed prior to auction close, if there is any way I can assist please let me know. This is a great vehicle and would not have submitted on here if it was not. Thank you
The CARFAX mentions that vehicle was stolen then recovered 5 months later. Do you have any details about it?
Also, I find it odd that CARFAX lists no oil changes, not even one.
@SpotlesonMotorGroup that’s important! If you can know if any of the bug 3 had been done. As you know they are big expensive jobs!
@Ugly66 hello, unfortunately i was unable to get any records from the previous owner, I’ve been working on getting service history and if I do I will add to listing. If there is anything/pictures I can do to help please let me know. Also, anybody interested is more then welcome to view the vehicle locally, have a pre purchase inspection prior to auction end, or have someone come check it out for them.
Any of the three typical problems addressed yet? Rod bearings, VANOS, Sub frame? I didn't see it mentioned in the description. thank you
