Marking the fourth generation of BMW's 5-Series luxury sedan, the E39 is regarded for its build quality, sleek design, and optimal handling. This 2003 Touring version was originally ordered with the M-Sport Package, which equips a sport suspension, sport seats, 17” wheels, and an M-Sport steering wheel. It was purchased from the original owner in 2018 and has since received a refreshed cooling system, a rebuilt ABS unit, new rear door seals, new rear hatch pistons, a brake system flush, and routine oil services. Now showing approximately 164k miles on the odometer, this 2003 BMW 525i is being offered for auction by its seller out of New Hampshire.
This 525i comes finished in Oxford Green (430) and features chrome exterior trim, a glass sunroof, black roof rails, xenon headlights with washers, fog lights, Parking Distance Control sensors, and rain-sensing windshield wipers. The seller reports the front bumper was refinished and notes dents on the front grille and hood area as well as some other minor scratches and paint wear to the exterior. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report. The factory 17” Style 81 wheels are mounted with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ all-season tires from 2019.
The interior is upholstered in Gray Montana leather with power-adjustable and heated front sport seats, a folding center armrest, and a ski bag pass through. Other amenities include dual-zone automatic climate control, wood trim, cruise control, an M-Sport leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel, rear window shades, an onboard computer, and a factory 10-speaker AM/FM/CD stereo. The connection to the instrument cluster has been repaired along with some pixels on the radio screen. An auxiliary audio input has been installed and the seller reports an intermittent airbag warning light as well as some wear to the carpeting. The headlight leveling adjusters do not function.
The 2.5-liter M54 inline-six was factory rated at 184 HP and 175 lb-ft of torque, driving the rear wheels through a Steptronic 5-speed automatic transmission. Factory performance features include a sport suspension with a self-leveling rear end, Dynamic Stability Control, and four-wheel disc anti-lock brakes. According to the seller, most of the major cooling system components have been replaced since 2018 including the upper and lower coolant hoses, thermostat, heater inlet pipe, clutch fan, and the water pump pulley. The rear door seals and rear hatch pistons have been replaced, the brake system has been flushed, and the ABS module has been rebuilt. An oil filter stand leak has been addressed, although the seller reports a slight oil leak persisting from the valve cover gaskets.
This sale will include a clean title.

To automotiveartist:
The car just passed the NH Safety Inspection in March 2022, and is in great shape and fully functional.
Does that answer your question?
Hello,
Does it need anything moving forward?
This is my favorite version of the BMW E39 model, and is an awesome highway cruiser with huge cargo capacity for a wagon. The M-Sport package adds great sport seats and steering wheel, while the self-leveling rear suspension maintains the handling and sporting nature even when loaded.
Happy to answer any questions.
We really need AWD for our New Hampshire winters. Had been keeping it mostly in VA, but now it's our second car in NH.
Why are you selling?
