Equipped with a 3.2-liter flat-six engine and a 6-speed manual gearbox, this 2002 Porsche 986 Boxster S comes finished in Basalt Black Metallic over a black interior with optional leather Sport seats. It features a generous list of optional equipment including the Sport Touring Package, Porsche Stability Management 18” light alloy Turbo-look wheels with colored Porsche crests, Sport Chassis (030), a silver-painted roll bar, the Xenon Headlamp Package, and more. This two-owner 986 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Florida with approximately 51k miles showing on the odometer.
Compared to an entry-level 986, the top-of-the-line Boxster S can be visually distinguished by its grey front air intake grilles, matte silver rear lettering, dual center exhaust tips, and red-painted brake calipers. This example comes finished in Basalt Black Metallic with a matching convertible soft top and features optional 18” light alloy Turbo-look wheels with colored Porsche crests, the Xenon headlamp package, and a silver-painted roll bar. Larger ovular exhaust tips are added as part of the Sport Toruing Package. It rides on Continental ExtremeContact tires from 2022. The seller notes curb rash is present on the passenger side rear wheel. Additional images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin presents black upholstery with optional leather Sport Seats and the Sport Touring Package which adds a wind-stop, Bose Sound System, cruise control, a 6-disc CD changer, and an onboard computer. The Sport Touring Package also adds an appearance package consisting of an aluminum/leather shifter and brake handle, aluminum sill plates with logos, and aluminum instrument faces. Porsche-crested headrests and Black floor mats with Porsche lettering were also selected as optional equipment. The seller notes minor scuffs on the back of the seats.
Power is derived from a naturally aspirated 3.2-liter flat-six engine that delivers up to 250 HP and 225 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. Optional performance features include a lowered Sport Chassis (030) and Porsche Stability Management (PSM). The seller states that an LN Engineering IMS bearing has been installed and a host of service documentation will accompany the sale.
This sale will include a clean title, owner’s manuals, and a window sticker.
