Presented in Lapis Blue Metallic over a Graphite Grey interior, this 2002 Porsche 986 Boxster features a 5-speed manual transmission paired with its mid-mounted flat-six engine. It came factory-equipped with the optional Power Seat Package, Heated Front Seats Package, Sport Package, and 17” Boxster Design wheels. Showing under 25k miles on the odometer, this Boxster is now being offered for auction out of Michigan.
This 986 is finished in Lapis Blue Metallic with a Metropol Blue cabriolet top and optional 17” Boxster Design wheels in silver. Equipment includes headlamps with integrated fog lights, power mirrors, side air intakes, a speed-activated rear spoiler, dual roll hoops, and a center-mounted exhaust outlet. The seller indicates some stone chips around the exterior. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The Graphite Grey partial leather interior includes optional heated and power-operated seats and a black leather three-spoke steering wheel. The car also features driver seat position memory, power windows, automatic climate control, cruise control, a remote alarm system, central locking doors, an onboard computer, a CD storage compartment, and a Porsche CDR-220 stereo.
A naturally aspirated 2.7-liter flat-six engine feeds up to 217 HP and 192 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels through a 5-speed manual transaxle. Standard features include power-assisted steering, front and rear stabilizer bars, and fixed 4-piston brakes with ventilated discs. The seller states that the car has been maintained at an authorized Porsche dealer.
This sale will include owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a spare tire, and a clean title.

Really nice spec...IMS replacement is past its "service interval", but still better than the stock unit. I'd still probably replace it sooner than later. Also, probably budget for some new tires sooner than later as well. But not much else needed.

Yes, look at the receipts from Lavery Porsche in Birmingham, Michigan, and you’ll see where the IMS was replaced in 2012.
@seller, in case i missed it, was IMS taking care of? thanks

@bhmohio The monitor must be on a break....
@pcarmarket I think this is a bid error.
This certainly looks like an opportunity to secure a very well-maintained low mileage, clean Boxster. Relative to mileage, the IMS has got a lot of life left in it. GLWA!
Wow! That escalated in a hurry. (Or fat fingers.)
My bid was a double tap. Real bid is 6500. Please withdraw bid. I like the car but not that much
Someone really wants this car with that bid!
Now that's what I call stepping up with $$

@Zakspeed sorry typo - the car has not been to the porsche dealer for regular service. The IMS was done at the local Porsche dealer. (invoice in the photos) Previous customer has done annual service but no records. i will change fluids, plugs and belts if called for.
"The seller states that the car has been maintained at an authorized Porsche dealer."
Has the vehicle not been maintained for the last 9 years with the laps in Carfax, which dealers report to?
New owner should seriously consider having the IMS done, and while you're in there, the RMS and Clutch. At such low miles it's unlikely it "need" a clutch, but you're in there anyway. I would also change the tires.
Great car though, desirable color combo, no bore scoring issues to worry about, wish it was a little bit closer.
Bid in the amount of $5,500
@AxtellMotors -
Much like a massive coronary, there is only one “IMS Issue”……..
3k IMS discount?
Bid in the amount of $5,000
@DRJOEL no issues with IMS. I’ve spoken with the previous owner. He doesn’t recall when he flushed radiator or brake fluid. I’ve scheduled an appointment to have those done along with an inspection of the belts and plugs. Any recommendations for service will be taken care of.
Tires have excellent tread; no dry rot, but look to be 7 or 8 years old.
Car drives beautifully, clutch feels great. Thank you for your interest. Good luck bidding.
No IMS issues? Looks like last service, including brake, flush and other fluids was done nearly 10 years ago. How old are the tires?
