Debuted in late 1996 as Porsche’s flagship mid-engine roadster, the 986 Boxster has earned recognition among enthusiasts for its agile performance and exciting driving experience. This first-generation 2002 example comes finished in Carrara White over Graphite Grey upholstery and pairs a Tiptronic automatic transmission with its flat-six engine. Initially delivered at Brumos Porsche in Jacksonville, Florida, it has been cared for by the current owner for approximately 14 years. Showing approximately 87k miles on the odometer, this 986 is now being offered for auction by the selling dealer out of Florida.
This example comes finished in Carrara White with a black convertible soft top. Other details include silver-painted front grilles, integrated side air intakes, roll hoops, a speed-activated rear spoiler, and a central exhaust outlet. A set of 17” 996 10-spoke wheels have been mounted with Yokohama YK580 front tires from 2015 and Continental ExtremeContact rear tires from 2016. Minor cosmetic blemishes are noted along with a minor touch-up on the front bumper and a ding on the trunk lid. Additional images are provided in the gallery along with a CARFAX report.
The cabin presents Graphite Grey partial leather upholstery with matching floor mats, contrasted by black accents along the dashboard, steering wheel, center console, and door panels. Equipment includes power seats, windows, and door locks. The seller notes some signs of wear on the driver’s seat, the window switches are slightly misaligned, and a cup holder cover is missing.
Mounted behind the driver is a naturally aspirated 2.5-liter flat-six engine rated at 201 HP and 181 lb.-ft of torque. The rear wheels are driven by a Tiptronic automatic transmission and stopping power is handled by 4-piston fixed aluminum monobloc brake calipers on all four corners. The seller adds that this example was maintained at Brumos Porsche, or Porsche of Jacksonville, Florida, along with a local, reputable European-specialist shop. The IMS bearing is said to have been serviced in 2007. Slight oil leaks are believed to be coming from the valve covers.
This sale will include a clean title, owner’s manuals, a toolkit, and a spare tire.

@Wtcorg I would assume there is a minor leak somewhere in the system if it needs to be recharged periodically like that. It blows cold currently. Also, as disclosed in the listing it appears a valve cover gasket is leaking slightly. I would assume many cars look like that before photo time and then much of it is wiped away, I made sure to keep the car an honest depiction of its condition. I have parked cars under this on the lift without hesitation since there is no drip. Thanks.

@Backmarker Hey, check out the last photo of the gallery. Contacted Porsche and they pulled the specific record. No oil sample was done. When it comes to the tires I’d say replace all 4. It seems they were mostly replaced at different times. Thanks.
Ims not done either time when the tiptronic was out to do the seals? Was oil lab tested? Are the tires installed in 2021 now on the car?
