Equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission and a coveted 3.6-liter twin-turbocharged Mezger engine, this 996 Turbo Coupe features the optional X50 Powerkit which provides an output of up to 450 HP. This 996 was sold new in Connecticut and is now being offered for auction out of Tennessee with approximately 65k miles showing on the odometer.
Characterized by model-specific bumpers, wide fenders, side air intakes, and a speed-activated rear spoiler, this 996 Turbo is finished in Lapis Blue Metallic. Equipment includes xenon headlamps, fog lights, auto-dimming mirrors, rain-sensing wipers, a rear window wiper, an electric sunroof, red brake calipers, 18” 911 Turbo wheels, and polished quad exhaust tips included with the X50 Powerkit. The tires show production date codes from 2017. Noted imperfections include touched-up rock chips on the hood and front bumper, slight clearcoat discoloration on the rear driver’s side, some fading on headlamp lenses, and small paint chips on the rear decklid grille. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a CARFAX report showing minor damage to the right front end in 2017.
The Savanna Beige full leather interior features optional Light Burr Maple wood trim on the dashboard, center air vent, and instrument surround. This car has also been modified with aftermarket billet diverter valves and a short shift kit. The seller states the clutch slave cylinder/accumulator was replaced in 2017, a new ignition switch was installed in 2019, and an oil service was completed in 2024 along with a passed emissions test.

@nobrakes Coolant lines have not been pinned or glued.
Have had dozens and dozens of these Mezgers, several with close to 800hp and only ever had one set fail. Unless tracking I generally do not worry about them. Some tracks do have requirements for them to be done. Not a terrible job, my shop has done them before. We usually wait until signs of leakage.
Thanks!
Miles
cooling lines pinned, updated?
Bid in the amount of $42,500
@Miles.S thank you
@Mccheez The rear quarter shows some very faint discoloration in the paint. Very hard to photo. I did not get meters on this one unfortunately. The front end has been painted and I think they painted down the drivers side when they did it. The paint on the car really does show nicely . Not perfect but shines up nice and very nice even metallic. Spoiler works great. Driving and manually. The last video shows spoiler operation. Thanks! Miles
Beyond the accident repair on the front do you believe the car to have been repainted? The video looks very good. Some of the photos of the rear end and quarter panels appears to show some orange peel. I didn’t see paint meter readings. Also, does the spoiler in the rear function properly?
I have the B & M shifter in my 03 x50. It is a bit tight/notchy but not bad. A lot of people prefer it to the stock, esp for track days, but I actually prefer the "sloppy" feel of my 99 996 C2 that I have had for 21 years, probably just what I am used to, and its not tracked. GLWTS, great cars, best bang for the buck IMHO.
The Mezger in these engines doesn't have the IMS bearing issues like the NA motors. Entirely different design.. very durable when properly maintained
Is there a history of IMS bearing replacement or anything?
@Rocky My apologies. Thought they went through. Just confirmed they are in the gallery now. Thank you!
Miles
Additional content has been added to the gallery for this listing.
Thanks. Forgive me but I looked through and don't see the DME... What image # is it?
@Rocky Just uploaded the DME report. I believe the shifter is a B&M..let me look that up.
The clutch feels great, no history of it being replaced but the accumulator was replaced. No history on the water pump.
Thanks!
Miles
@Miles.S also do you have a DME report?
What brand is the aftermarket short shifter? And has it ever had the clutch or water pump done? If not on clutch any signs of slip?

Hi All,
Just want to check in. Thanks for the bids and comments so far. Wonderful 996 Turbo here! The car is an absolute rocket. These Turbos are by far one of my top 5 modern Pcars. Power, reliability, modern comforts, and in my opinion incredible value.
Throughout the auction, please let me know if you have any questions or requests. Happy to provide shipping quotes as well if needed. The car is located at my shop in the Southeast (Maryville TN) I am just 10 minutes from the airport and about 30 minutes from the Tail of the Dragon. Fly in and enjoy some mountain roads on the drive home!
Thanks
Miles

Great to hear, thank you.
@Rocky No flooding up by us. Just east of us in the mountains
Hate to ask but I have to, I see it's in Knoxville TN, any issues with the flooding?

@ls18 Hi there,
No second gear pop out on this car. No the shifters won’t make a difference if the cars have pop out issues.
Thanks!
Miles
hi, does this car have problems with 2nd gear popping out? The aftermarket short shift kit wouldn't necessarily have addressed that potential issue, right?
