Now available for auction is this 2002 Porsche 996 GT2 finished in Basalt Black Metallic over a black full leather interior with yellow deviated stitching. Considered by many collectors and enthusiasts to be the pinnacle of the 996 generation, the GT2 carries a legendary twin-turbocharged Mezger flat-six engine which sends power to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. This 2002 example features some desirable factory options and tasteful modifications including decorative carbon fiber, HRE wheels and a GIAC performance tune. Purchased by the seller in 2011 from a Porsche dealership in Puerto Rico, this GT2 is said to have been kept up to date on all scheduled maintenance with just over 38k miles now showing on the odometer.
The Basalt Black Metallic finish is stated to be in great shape with some typical roadgoing wear. The seller notes that the front bumper has recently been refinished in order to address some rock chips, detailed images are provided in the photo gallery along with paint meter readings. The GT2 shares the basic design of the Turbo model with a unique front bumper and larger rear spoiler. Other features include carbon fiber mirror covers along with rare exposed carbon fiber rear wing. Standard equipped yellow PCCB brake calipers are tucked behind aftermarket 18” HRE R40 wheels which come dressed in Pirelli Rosso tires from 2018. The seller confirms that the original OEM wheels will also accompany the sale.
This GT2 sports a black full leather interior with painted seat backrests and deviated stitching in yellow. Other exclusive options include Porsche crested headrests and draped leather seats. The original Becker Porsche CDR-220 radio has been retained and the seller notes that an OEM roll bar was previously installed and will be included separately. A fire extinguisher has also been equipped for safety and aesthetic purposes. The seller states that this car has only been used for a few driver education events and has mostly been driven locally as a daily driver. The cabin is said to be in great overall condition with all gauges and accessories working properly.
This GT2 carries a sought-after twin-turbocharged 3.6 L Mezger flat-six engine which is rated at 456 HP stock. The rear wheels are driven by way of a 6-speed manual transmission with limited slip differential making for a 0-60 time of under 4 seconds. Standard performance features include powerful PCCB Ceramic Composite brakes and a 20mm lowered suspension. This example has been upgraded with a GIAC performance tune and controller, GMG sway bars and RSS monoball lower control arms. The OEM GT2 coilovers are also reported to have been serviced by Elephant Racing. Additionally, the K24 wastegate was replaced with a Turbosmart IWG75. All scheduled service has been carried out by an authorized Porsche dealer under the current ownership with the most recent service performed in July of 2019. During this time the coolant was changed along with the transmission fluid and engine oil. Offered with a collection of service records, this GT2 is said to drive beautifully.
The sale of this 996 GT2 will include the original books, car cover, tools and wheels, a set of two keys, an OEM roll bar and service records. If you have always dreamed of owning an iconic GT2 model, this nicely equipped 2002 example is not to be missed.

@JNasty thanks a lot for the information. This is very valuable Information for shipping to mainland. Also COVId 19 must be also considered in the equation.
@Gclasse @abacpm - I am the buyer of the GT3. Between an AMAZING seller and good shipper, it was easy. The AD in San Juan vetted the car/PPI'd it and shipping was a little slower than in the US due to inspections at the port in PR before it could get on a boat and inspections before it could get on a truck from FL for CA, delayed more by COVID. Shipping was about $2,400 to CA and full insurance was 2% of stated value.
Here is a link from CROWLEY on requirements to ship a car to US. https://blog.crowley.com/how-to-ship-a-vehicle-from-puerto-rico-to-the-us
@abacpm @abacpm, https://www.pcarmarket.com/auction/dealtank-2004-porsche-911-gt3-1/. This GT3 was sold few months ago and was shipped from PR as well.
@abacpm yes! the answer is that no duties or additional taxes will be required in the process of shipping a car from PR to US (Domestic Market). Only the shipping charges and insurance will be needed.
From my side, as seller, I need to provide the information of the car and additional documentation to fulfill the shipping company requirements. Hope this clarifies.
Is the any additional documentation or additional taxes when you ship out of Puerto Rico ..///
The more info you can provide a buyer as to the exact process to ship vehicle the higher the auction price will be

@vengerider @Sberger6 Hello! thanks for asking. It is relative easy to ship to the states (as Puerto Rico is essentially part of US). Cost range from recent feedback was that from San Juan, PR to Jacksonville FL, is around $850 - $1000.
Anyone have experience with bringing a car from PR to the states? Is there a lot involved?
Hello, additional pictures of the engine, transmission and suspension area has been added. Have a great day!
