The Porsche 996 Turbo arrived in the United States in 2001, featuring a twin-turbocharged Mezger engine derived from the Le Mans-winning 911 GT1 race car. Equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission, this 2002 Porsche 996 Turbo Coupe is finished in Basalt Black Metallic over Black full leather upholstery and features optional supple leather, aluminum instrument dials, driver’s seat lumbar support, and more. It was further upgraded with Top Gear exhaust components, a COBB engine tune, Rennline motor mounts, welded coolant lines, a GT2 clutch, a Numeric Racing short shifter, Bilstein PSS10 coilovers, and Elephant Racing front camber plates. Showing less than 88k miles on the odometer, this example is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Texas.
This 996 is finished in Basalt Black Metallic and features wide Turbo-specific bodywork with unique bumpers, side air intakes, flared rocker panels, and a speed-activated rear spoiler. Other equipment includes xenon headlamps, headlight washers, fog lamps, auto-dimming power mirrors, an electric sunroof, a rear window wiper, and Rennline exhaust outlets. It rides on 18” hollow-spoke Turbo Twist wheels that were powder-coated approximately 250 miles ago and fitted with 7mm front wheel spacers, 15mm rear wheel spacers, and new Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires. Minor paint imperfections are noted as commensurate with age, along with some scuffs on the front lip. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The Black full leather interior is accented with exclusively optioned aluminum instrument dials. Additional options include supple leather, left-seat lumbar support, a remote 6-disc CD changer, and Black floor mats with Porsche lettering. Modifications include red seatbelts, a gloss black-painted center console, a smaller steering wheel with thicker leather, an aftermarket shift knob, aftermarket pedals, a Rennline phone charger with MagSafe, and a double DIN head unit with a reversing camera, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto.
Power comes from a twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter Mezger flat-six engine, factory-rated at 415 HP and 415 lb-ft of torque, which drives all four wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. Modifications include COBB engine tuning with multiple user-selectable programs available, a Top Gear exhaust system with resonators, Rennline motor mounts, welded coolant lines, a K&N air filter, a GT2 clutch, a Numeric Racing short shifter, Bilstein PSS10 coilovers, and Elephant Racing front camber plates. The seller states that the factory exhaust system will accompany the sale, and a collection of service records is provided in the gallery.
This sale will include a clean title, a toolkit, a spare tire, a battery charger, the factory exhaust system, and service documentation.
The seller would like you to know: “I'm glad this Turbo piqued your interest, it really is a clean car for its age and extremely well maintained with all the problem areas addressed, ready for trouble-free miles. I hope you're able to drive and enjoy it like I did, but put more miles on her than I did.”

@Bklyndave74 I would assist with the coordination. Are you asking if I’ll pay for the shipping?
@GT4.Chris , no worries, it would say all overrevs prior to October 2022. :^]
@GT4.Chris I do not have a dme report nor know how to run one and at work right now so I couldn’t make it home in time to run one before end of auction. I apologize.
@golluplife Have you had a DME report/compression test done in your ownership or to prep for auction by chance? I don't think I saw either of those in the paperwork pictures
Do you help with shipping?
@GT4.Chris that was what drew me in all that money spent plus the coolant lines being welded. Bulletproof now.
@xtype noticed that too. Also hope the owner # four got it for a steal. Bought it 08/22, dumped $18k into it 10/22, then sold it a year later
It sure went through a lot of sets of spark plugs back then. One set was changed only a couple of miles apart and inside a year. Whatever the reason for an engine rebuild, it seems we'll vetted by now.
Rumor has it $48k was top of @speedlines budget

@Stuttgart_911 that I am not sure of.

@golluplife - very cool 996TT. Question for you as I look at the invoice in photo 168. Not sure if you know, but what was the reason for the extensive engine work? It says the pistons were re-ringed, cylinder head valve job, etc. I’m used to seeing clutch jobs and coolant line work on these but not that level of engine work like you would see on an air-cooled car. Was the engine having some kind of issues back in ‘22? Thanks and GLWA today!

@HazMat no sir. Ac and heat work perfect and no foam.
@golluplife Any foam coming out of the air vents?
@HazMat there are driving videos if you scroll through the pictures. I’m at work now, so unfortunately, I won’t be able to film one currently but definitely referred to the videos.
Hi I’m very interested in this car. Are you able to post a driving video?
@sportscarguy3 thanks for the love. I feel like she is a mix between looks great maintenance and tasteful mods. I feel like this particular car will not disappoint. Good luck to all bidders, let’s get her into a new home!
I thoroughly enjoyed my 2002, Porsche 996. Twin Turbo.
Mine was very similar to this Porsche. Same color combination with some nice GT2 upgrades, and was an incredible car to own and drive.
This handsome Porsche has even more driver focused modifications than mine, and at 88,000 miles. Just starting to break in. And my opinion.
Probably one of the most enjoyable and fastest. Porsches. I’ve ever owned and enjoyed.
Snatch this beauty up. If you can, you will not be disappointed.
Good luck all

She’s honestly very clean and with the maintenance it’s basically a new motor with the coolant lines someone can literally get in and enjoy. Oh and tell me about it whenever I would take it out it would always be the furthest away parking spot. Yeah this is y first auction. I set a reserve so if it doesn’t sell I’m fine keeping it, she will just sit in the garage but that’s no fun. Someone really needs to be driving her.
@golluplife couldn't agree more. Stepping back from the GT4 to something I feel less protective about racking miles and having fun in. I'll be a part of the bid scramble tomorrow, this looks like exactly what I've been keeping an eye out for

@GT4.Chris these cars are made to be driven and I just don’t drive it.
@GT4.Chris I’m selling it because I really don’t drive it, I take it out on Sundays and other than that it sits in the garage. Makes more sense to sell it for someone to actually enjoy than me just going to the garage to admire how pretty she is. I want something a little bigger. Been looking at Cayenne S’s and x3comps.
I didn't see it in the listing, but why are you selling after short ownership? What's going to replace it?
@Ksdaoski that is for the battery tender. The pigtail end comes out the bumper above the bumperette filler panel. Car is always in the garage and on the charger.
@BBKING515 tires were bought in June of this year from tire rack. I’ll get the date codes when I get home today. As far as I know hydraulics are original and work fine with no issues
What's the wire shown in 135? Looks like it's red and black and grounded on the rear suspension mount
What are the date codes on the tires? Have the hydraulic rams on the rear spoiler been replaced or upgraded to electric? Looks beautiful!
Bid in the amount of $37,750
Just found the gem steering wheel, which will be included in the sale, but honestly the current steering wheel is so nice.
Bid in the amount of $37,500
@Squelch no oil leaks. Engine was pretty much rebuilt by previous owner with all the maintenance done and it was fine by a very reputable known Porsche shop. The maintenance was the biggest draw to me when I bought this car
Bid in the amount of $35,000
Are there any oil leaks?
Bid in the amount of $32,000

All the service was done in the last 10,000 miles and she was just a weekend car and to car shows. Someone is truly gonna enjoy her. Happy bidding.
Nice example with lots of maintenance items covered. Good luck!
Bid in the amount of $25,000
Damn, this one pretty much has it all. Can get in and enjoy
