This 2002 Porsche 996 Turbo Coupe comes finished in the rare shade of Zanzibar Red Metallic over a Black full leather interior and features a 6-speed manual transmission. It has undergone extensive performance upgrades including a rear-wheel drive conversion, Sachs Stage 2 clutch, Europipe exhaust, European Motor Werks tune, a GT3 gearbox, GT2-style spoiler, KW coilovers, 997 BBS widebody wheels, and much more. Showing just over 99k miles on the odometer, this 996 is now being offered for auction out of California.
The 996 Turbo model is defined by distinct model-specific bumpers, wide fenders with side air intakes, and flared rocker panels. This example, featuring a Zanzibar Red Metallic finish, has been fitted with an aftermarket GT2-style carbon fiber rear spoiler and enhanced with KW coilover suspension and 997 BBS wheels dressed in Michelin Pilot Sport tires. The seller notes the front bumper underwent a repaint to its original color after 21 years from its initial production. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin showcases Black full leather upholstery with aluminum trim accents. It comes equipped with a Pioneer CD media player faceplate and Black floor mats with Porsche lettering. All gauges, electronics, and accessories are reported to be in proper working order.
Power is derived from a twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter Mezger flat-six engine paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. The seller adds that a rear-wheel drive conversion has been performed and the car produces approximately 580 HP. Recent maintenance, conducted by Auto Strasse in Newport Beach, included a full inspection, fresh fluids, and an oil change. The seller has listed the following performance upgrades:
This sale will include the owner’s manuals, a set of stock 18” 996 Turbo Twist OEM wheels, the original front differential, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “Buy a GT2 killer in one of the rarest PTS shades of the 996/997 generation with this turn-key ready-to-drive package at a fraction of the price of a genuine GT2.”

Thank you all for a great week!
I was hoping mid-50's (min) would take this home. Beautiful, no stunning, Zanzibar paint on black! But these 996TT's are most desired when unmodified.
Shame. Thought I had it there for a second. Hopefully that was enough for it to hit reserve. If so, congrats to IddKddLdd.
Just takes 2.

@carterruss I have a current PPI scheduled as requested earlier in this thread with a current DME scheduled for early next week. This was the local shop’s first availability.
Did you have a DME report?
...and it has a glove box! One of the (few) gripes about my previously owned 2001 996TT was no glove box. Also, no worries about wood or carbon fiber trim delaminating! Wishing I was currently in the market. Absolutely gorgeous PTS color! GLWTS!
@dabdella yes , passed smog last year and it will be smogged again for a CA buyer
Hi, beautiful car! With everything that's been done to the car, it's all good with CA smog cert.? Thanks.
Guess I'm going to have to get serious about selling one of my RS4s so I can bid on this.

Does the stock wing come with the car?
@bdr737 PPI’s are welcomed
@Blubusdrvr yes, reputable tuner. I have not dynoed the car.
@Patwacokid happy to schedule to show the car this week
Need address to see car
@Pateadore14 "Ultimate Motor Werks tune" Ahh, this makes more sense. Well proven tune on the 996tt. Was the car ever dynoed or are the HP figures estimates from tuner experience?
Can we get photos of the paint meter readings on the panels? Can we see the DME overrev report? Can you post the PPI report from when you bought it? Can I come inspect this car and send it for a PPI in a few days?
@Blubusdrvr *Ultimate Motor Werks tune
@Ccoucap yes a/c is active and functioning properly , pioneer stereo faceplate with Bluetooth capability
Great overall road trip car
Bid in the amount of $25,500

@Pateadore14 I live locally. Let me know the best way to reach you to see the car.
@Blubusdrvr the hood was not painted under my tenure. I will track down the owners manual.
@agt6381 I have the inspection report when I purchased the car and recent maintenance reports from a reputable shop here in Newport Beach CA
Is it possible to inspect the car this weekend?
Bid in the amount of $20,000
Beautiful car. Glad to see it was enjoyed as well. This thing has to be a handful (and a blast) in a RWD format. I'm not familiar with the "European Motor Werks" tune and can't find any info about it. I know the bumper was resprayed, was the hood done as well? I don't see the hood sticker, can you post a pic of the one from the owners manual maybe? This car will do well.
Bid in the amount of $5,000
Good afternoon P car enthusiasts, please enjoy this listing and these pictures. This car is a fine example of a modern widowmaker with Mezger magic. This zanzibar is a fine motorcar to enjoy as garage eye candy and behind the wheel. With approximately 100 horsepower more than a GT2 in a rare PTS shade, the car surely is a headturner and necksnapper. As the saying goes, never meet your hero, unless it's the iconic 911 Turbo.
