Why should one think this very nice 996T is going to Los Angeles? Just kidding, I am fortunate enough to own a 996T. Awesome Porsches, wish I could own several, but that’s unrealistic. As someone who has bought and sold too many cars, when shipping I recommend enclosed transport. The careless manner in which some open transporters drive the cars on and off the trailer can be cringeworthy. This is a fine Turbo, super reliable. Looking at the Carfax, I believe it has had good care. Also the GT3 wheels are highly desirable. Good luck seller and bidders.
@BigTomSesto1962 there is no ceramic coating, and open trucks are normally around $1,895-$2,000 to Los Angeles (ballpark).

Shipping cost, uncovered trailer but with car cover on it from Iowa to Los Angeles? Just give me a guess-estimate or better? $1k? $1500??

@fryingpan Once payment is processed I can help you setup transportation if you need. Usually I would like to have the car on the road in a week or two max. Would that be reasonable for you?

Can the car be stored (after payment) until arrangements are made to pick up? Time limit?

Can you please post the engine Rev Range data? Over-revs are much less a concern with a tiptronic 996TT but not zero.
Thanks!

@wosnoopy The coolant lines were pinned in 2015 by Auto Edge in Minnesota, and that was also the last time the spark plugs were done to my knowledge. Another huge service was done by them in 2020. Car was inspected and serviced by my shop when I got it, and its been a great running car!

Bid in the amount of $24,000
Why not modify this for spec racing? Good candidate for conversion, or better suited as a daily?
Have the coolant lines been pinned or welded? Do you know when the spark plugs were last replaced? And when the transmission was serviced? Thanks.
@TomSesto the car was last licensed in Minnesota and is currently in my dealer inventory. We are not a smog state, so I do not know the exact certifications, though the mufflers are stock and there are no modifications past a different colored hose for the turbos. It should pass smog, but I can't be 100% sure. The wing mechanism is a nice upgrade, it is a fully electronic version by RennKit called the "E-ram" kit. It replaces the hydraulic wing assembly that is prone to failure in these cars! As far as driving the car, it should perform just fine, though it is a 21-year-old car so I always give a disclaimer about being cautious.
Currently licensed and registered where? Smogged, if at all, where? Wing mechanism re-done or stock. Interior looks great. Everything is working? All electronics working? Could ship it but is car driveable from Iowa to L.A.?
I am working on getting some video up for you guys to view, but weather in my area today is less than ideal. This car was fully inspected by my technician, and received an oil change, filters, a new alternator, and a full brake fluid flush. The car starts and operates smoothly, I should have a startup video soon!
@pf2d, I do not see any corrosion present, the paint does not have areas of bubbling, underneath looks nice. Short answer is no. Though the car saw climates that have winters, I doubt it saw anything but summer driving.
@targahawk Thanks for posting the underside pictures. Can you please answer my other question: is there corrosion anywhere on the car? Thanks.
@targahawk - got it, thanks!
@GrandNatty wheel markings are posted. As I stated, the setup is 8x18 front and 11x18 rear. The markings show 8 and 11.
@pf2d the underbody shots are uploaded for you!

@targahawk - can you post wheel stampings from car please so we know exactly what is on there for width and offsets please?
@targahawk - here is what the internet seems to say: Option #1, GT2 wheels which look like GT3, but are wider, 18x8.5 front and 18x12 rear, the offset is 40mm front and 45mm rear. No spacer needed. Option #2, GT3 wheels they are 18x8.5 front and 18x11 rear with offset 40mm front and 63mm rear, need rear spacer of 17mm to get the correct offset for the TT (offset is 50mm front and 45mm rear stock 996 TT).
@targahawk - my understanding is the opposite. Two front widths and ons rear. Also you are wrong. TT is wide body and GT3 is narrow body.
@GrandNatty So from what I believe to be true, these wheels only come in two Front sizes, and one rear size. The current setup here is 8x18 front (they also make 8.5x18), and 11x18 rear. There is no spacers, and the wheels are the correct fit and look flush. The 996 GT3's and turbos had no widebody variants, so the wheels are interchangeable. Hope that helps!
@pf2d I am happy to get some underside photos for you today! Look out for those in the gallery.
@The_underhill_acct I purchased the car from MN, I am a dealer, and owner since 2022.
Seller did you own it in MN or are you only the owner since 2022?

@targahawk …I was Wilkins elementary…. Good times!
Can you please post pictures of the underside of the car? Is there corrosion anywhere on the car? I ask because the Carfax shows the car spent most of its life up north. Thanks in advance!
@targahawk - are these Gt2 wheels? or actual gt3? And if gt3, are you running spacers in the back? My understanding is rear offset is wrong w/o them?
