Now available for auction is this 2002 Porsche 996 Turbo Coupe finished in Black over a black full leather interior. Extracting even more performance from its 3.6L twin-turbo Mezger engine, this 996 has been converted to rear wheel drive and equipped with K16 hybrid turbochargers, upgraded diverter valves, stainless steel headers, and a high-flow exhaust system. The motor was recently removed to weld the coolant pipes and install GT2 intercoolers. Also featuring upgraded suspension, custom fender flares, floating rotors, larger calipers, and Cup-style hubs with ATS center-lock wheels, this Tiptronic S Coupe is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Florida showing approximately 44k miles on the odometer.
This 996 comes finished in Black with matching custom fender flares and a GT2-style front bumper with carbon fiber canards. The 18" ATS GT-Racing center-lock wheels come dressed in new Toyo Proxes R888R tires. Several minor chips and scratches are noted throughout the exterior and the seller reports the car has seen track use, additional images are provided in the gallery along with paint meter readings and a clean CARFAX report.
The black full leather interior comes fitted with a pair of Power Sport Seats and features an Alcantara headliner, sunroof, automatic climate control, three-spoke steering wheel, and an original Porsche CDR-220 radio. The seller notes the Airbag warning light is present relating to a fault with the driver’s seatbelt.
The twin-turbocharged 3.6L flat-six Mezger engine produces as much as 415 HP stock and has been upgraded with K16 hybrid turbochargers, GT2 RS intercoolers, Forge silicone boost hoses, aftermarket diverter valves, a 5-bar fuel pressure regulator, stainless steel headers, and an aftermarket exhaust system. The seller reports the engine was removed in October of 2021 for installation of the hybrid turbochargers and upgraded intercoolers as well as welding of the coolant pipes as preventative maintenance. The car has been converted to rear-wheel drive and features a Tiptronic S 5-speed transmission that allows for both automatic and manual gear changes. The suspension includes upgraded sway bars and two-piece control arms as well as rear toe arms with locking plates. Larger 6-piston brake calipers have been installed in front along with full-floating rotors at each corner. Additional maintenance history is provided in the CARFAX report.

@Pat there are no additional parts except rear wiper parts if wanted to reinstall. Tires are brand new just put on last week oil change was performed as well.
Any replaced parts go with the sale
@Devil_Dog_Ultra Very helpful. I will look into that, whatever the outcome of the auction. Thanks Very Much for sharing your experience with this.
@Havenhearth I can clarify this with a long detailed answer…. The short is it depends on the state. Best way to do it is to register a car in a state with no inspections. ie. Montana, Sd, Sc there’s plenty more to list. Now those states will have requirements such as a address or a mailbox in order to register the car. As far as insurance goes insure it in the state where minimum coverage is highest in order to protect your asset. You can also do all this as LLC or C corp.
@Havenhearth after speaking with my techs you could purchase high flow cats and re-tune the vehicle depends which state you are in . Cost will vary as to which converters you purchase.
Just from curiosity, if the vehicle has not catalytic converters, is it street legal in All 50?
If not, what would it take to return it to street use? And what might that work cost?
Thanks --handsome car.
@CWill9525 Thank you for the information. Much appreciated.
@Chim2_SFR when we got the vehicle there was a different spoiler on the vehicle and also different seats which we have switched out to factory parts the airbag light will be fixed before taking the vehicle spoiler is on does not seem to work.
Can you tell us if the rear wing is functioning properly, and maybe shed some light on the airbag light/ seatbelt issue? Have you had the issue looked at or an estimated provided to fix this issue? In my state, I can't get the car inspected and registered with an airbag light on, so this could be an important issue for my bidding.

@nyucfsu vehicle does not have cats
@nyucfsu Yes I will put together cold start video and driving video for your viewing today
Bid in the amount of $20,000
Obtaining the DME on this car would probably be useless and impossible to interpret secondary to the host of engine and drive mods. It would be interesting to see it on a dyno however just for fun. What a beast!
@CWill9525 This looks fantastic!
Could you share a cold start and driving video?
Also, can you tell more about the after-market exhaust? Does it still have cats?
@Chim2_SFR vehicle is located in Tampa Florida
Where in Florida is the car located. Is it available for viewing?
Please let me know any questions you may have I will answer any questions I can for you in a timely manner happy bidding
@docinthebox This turbo was modified for track use only so the third pedal would just get in the way. The slicks on it tell the whole story. We wish we all had the performance and technical abilities to realize this 911 full potential.
If only it were a 6’er. This is gorgeous to me
