Now up for auction is this 2002 Porsche 996 Turbo Coupe finished in Slate Grey Metallic. Sold new in Texas at an original sticker price over $131k, this Turbo features a Grey Natural Leather interior and a host of rare aluminum, leather, and Arctic Silver trim pieces from Porsche's Exclusive Department. Power comes from a 3.6L flat-six Mezger engine derived from the legendary 1998 Le Mans-winning GT1 race car, paired with an optional 5-speed Tiptronic S gearbox. It is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Pennsylvania showing just over 66k miles on the odometer.
This 996 comes finished in Slate Grey Metallic (L23F), a popular color based on the historic nonmetallic shade of Slate Grey. Compared to the standard Carrera model, the 996 Turbo is distinguished by wide fenders, side air ducts, bumpers with large air intakes, and a fixed rear spoiler with an auto-deploying wing. The seller describes the paint to be in excellent condition and notes the front bumper has been previously refinished, detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report. This 996 rides on aftermarket GT3-style 19" wheels with new Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires mounted in the rear.
Inside, amenities include heated supple leather seats with adjustable driver-side lumbar support, automatic climate control, and an upgraded Alpine Bluetooth stereo. The cabin is appointed with full Grey Natural Leather upholstery and special trim pieces from Porsche's Exclusive Department; the factory specifications label is decoded below:
This 996 is equipped with a twin-turbocharged 3.6L flat-six Mezger engine rated at 415 HP and 415 lb.-ft of torque. All four wheels are driven by way of a 5-speed Tiptronic S automatic transmission, that allows for both automatic and manual gear changes using the +/- setting on the gear selector or the buttons mounted on the steering wheel. Acceleration from 0-60 MPH is achieved in less than 5 seconds with a top speed of approximately 185 MPH. Recent maintenance history on CARFAX includes new spark plugs, CV boots, and a water pump installed by European Imports in 2020, and a service completed by Bert Smith Euro Collection of Florida in November of 2021.
This sale of this 996 Turbo will include a clean title.

the tiptronic MBZ 722.6 gearbox is robust and yet won't burn a hole in your pocket when comes to maintenance compare to the 6 sp manual. In addition, you know this 996tt cannot be abused ever like the 996tt manual can with level 2 over revs. 996TT tip is the best bang for the buck today. Don't under estimate the tip!! Even the 993 and 964 tips prices are on the rise. Well maintained, low mileage 996tt tip prices will certain move along with the others!

Has a DME report been done?
@lucas_r302 I understand the boots completely. Says axles in the description so it threw me off. Thanks.
@Hratcht pretty common on 996’s TT’s for the axle boots to start leaking and need replace/serviced. Most of them I’ve seen either had them replaced at some time or will need it at some point, common issue.

@Abuong01 I will post more pictures tomorrow morning.
post additional pictures please, its good form to show the car properly for us to decide if we want to pursue it further.
Also- if I remember correctly it has/had a k40 radar detector with a laser jammer installed in the front bumper.
I owned this car 8 years ago. While 30k miles have been driven after my ownership, it was in great condition when I owned it.
I bought it with the stereo already installed and will say that (if it is all still in there) it is still one of the best stereos I have ever heard in a car. Definitely not a hack job like most aftermarket stereos you see in 996s. The Bose stereo makes it difficult to modify correctly. This one was done properly.
The rear spoiler was not functioning when I purchased it. Rather than replacing the hydraulics, I chose to remove the leaking hydraulics. Unless they have been replaced, the spoiler is permanently fixed in the up position.
when you say a fixed rear wing, can you explain further? do you mean that the up and down function no longer works and it has therefore been position in the up only spot?
Hello this is Alex at AutoSport. I would be more than willing to FaceTime this Porsche with anyone that is interested in it and send additional pictures. Please direct message me.
@autosportco to echo what @RonS12 said, it would be really helpful to see some underbody pictures
Seller, please provide photos of the underbody, frunk, passenger door and rear seats. Also a startup video with accessories functioning (ie the sunroof and the spoiler raise/lower).
this is cool, nice work
