Among the rarest 996 models, the Porsche 996 Targa features a unique sliding glass roof design and is the first Porsche 911 to feature a rear-opening hatch. This 2002 example is finished in Arctic Silver Metallic over Black full leather. It was additionally optioned with 18” Sport Design wheels, the Advanced Technic Package, the Heated Front Seats Package, the Arctic Silver Package, the Comfort Package, and Porsche Stability Management. Showing approximately 89k miles on the odometer, this Targa is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Texas.

This 996 is finished in Arctic Silver Metallic and rides on factory-optioned 18” Sport Design wheels which come wrapped in like-new Michelin Pilot Sport tires. It features a sliding panoramic glass roof system, an opening rear hatch window, optional Litronic headlights, self-dimming mirrors, rain-sensing wipers, a rear window wiper, a speed-activated rear spoiler, and dual exhaust outlets. Modifications include clear side markers and black removable side “PORSCHE” decals. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The cabin presents Black full leather upholstery complemented with body-color accents as part of the Arctic Silver Package (small). Other options include the Heated Front Seats, Comfort, and Advanced Technic Packages, along with black Porsche-lettered floor mats. The seller adds that a PCM head unit has been retrofitted. All gauges and electronics are confirmed to be in proper working order.

A 3.6-liter flat-six engine delivers up to 320 HP and 273 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels through a 5-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission. Porsche Stability Management (PSM) was additionally opted for. The seller adds that the IMS bearing was replaced in March 2024, and the CARFAX report shows a total of 23 service history entries.

This sale will include a clean title, owner’s manuals, a window sticker, a toolkit, a spare tire, and sales literature.

The seller would like you to know: “This is a very special car for me; being my first Porsche, it’s being a pleasure to drive. The 996 Targa is the rarest body style in the series – only 5,152 were produced (all Mk.2 generation) between 2002 and 2005. The roof works flawlessly as well as the shade”
