Introduced in 2002, the 996 Carrera 4S sports the wide fenders and bumpers of the Turbo model along with a 3.6-liter flat-six engine sending power to all four wheels. Featuring a 6-speed manual transmission, this inaugural-year example wears a Boneyard White Inozetek wrap over a Black full leather interior. Options include the Advanced Technic Package, the Carbon Package, the Heated Front Seats Package, supple leather upholstery, Porsche-crested headrests, and more. The car benefits from the installation of a more reliable, 2005 Porsche 996-sourced short block under the factory warranty at Porsche Exchange in Highland Park, Illinois, on July 30, 2005. Cared for throughout Illinois and Wisconsin before the seller’s acquisition in Florida in 2023, this C4S is now being offered for auction with approximately 88k miles showing on the odometer.

Originally finished in Arctic Silver Metallic, this example’s wide bodywork features a Boneyard White (LIM005) Inozetek vinyl wrap along with a rear bumperette deletion. Upon the seller’s acquisition, a previous wrap was removed, paint repair was performed on the hood and driver’s side rear window area, and the current wrap was installed. Options include bi-xenon headlamps as part of the Advanced Technic Package, along with a rear window wiper and self-dimming mirrors with a rain sensor. The factory 18” Turbo-look wheels have been finished in black and mounted with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires from 2023. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The Black full leather interior features optional supple leather seats, the Heated Front Seats Package, the Carbon Package, the Technic Package, Porsche-crested headrests, and carbon fiber and aluminum brake and shifter levers. The seller notes that a 997 Carrera S shifter was installed, along with an Arena Red Metallic-finished center console cover. All gauges, electronics, and accessories are confirmed to be in proper working order.

Power comes from a 3.6-liter flat-six engine. A 2005 Porsche 996-sourced short block was installed under the manufacturer’s warranty at Porsche Exchange in Highland Park, Illinois, on July 30, 2005, due to bore scoring in cylinder wall #6. All four wheels are driven through the original 6-speed manual transmission. The seller adds that a 997 airbox was installed, and an oil change was performed in September 2024. The CARFAX shows 39 service history entries.

This sale will include a clean title, owner’s manuals, and a toolkit.

The seller would like you to know: “Really wonderful car that looked to be well taken care of when I purchased it just having some cosmetic issues due to a bad wrap job.  I actually enjoy driving this more than the 993s or 997s that I have owned.  I felt it was the perfect step up in comfort and drivability over the air-cooled (I know I'll take a hit for saying that lol) and the perfect blend of the analog (old) with the digital (new).   The car is a SoFlo car and has been in a climate-controlled garage being rotated up and down on a lift with a 997 Carrera S.  The only reason I am beginning to sell off a few of our 5 Porsches is the very real contemplation of downsizing in the near future.  We are a long-time Porsche family (PCA Members), having owned 13 (IIRC) Porsches in total over the years.”

I will also be including the full 2002 year of Porsche Panorama magazine for the winner. I always enjoyed having the year that matched each car just to see what articles and updates were being made.

@martin.1569 Hi Martin, when the previous wrap was pulled off it removed clear coat from the hood and from the window behind the drivers side door. Both areas were sanded and primed and wet sanded so it is ready for repainting of those areas if you so choose or could be re sprayed in its entirety.

I was out of town settling an estate when the work was done so I didn’t get to see it before the new wrap but the work was done by Champion Porsche and Ceramic Pros here in the Pompano Beach area.

Hello seller, can you comment to the condition of the paint before and after the wrap done in your ownership? If the wrap were removed would paint work be needed? Thanks!

  • Rockerceo (seller) 1 monthago

@LengleFactor it is separate and can be removed.

  • LengleFactor (registered bidder) 1 monthago

Can the black Porsche logo on hood be removed or is it part of the wrap?

  • Rockerceo (seller) 1 monthago

@bpark1989 yes, the short block was replaced by Porsche in 2005 at 21k miles due to bore scoring in cylinder wall 6. Therefore the short block has the replaceable single row IMS and as you can see has now logged 67k miles with no issues so with regular maintenance all should be fine. The AOS was checked by Champion Porsche when they had her in and they noted no issues.

  • bpark1989 (registered bidder) 1 monthago

Hi, has any of the 996 notorious items been addressed? IMS, RMS, AOS, bore-scoring, etc? Thank you!

I wish the car was here in Chicago, and never left! Would've been a much easier pickup/transaction :D
