The seller would like you to know: “I have owned this car for 3 years and have taken very good care of it. It has been garage kept and serviced annually with any issues addressed at that time. I am the third owner of the car, and I had a long conversation with the previous owner and believe he also well maintained the car. I believe I have taken care of all issues with the car. I only hope the new owner will enjoy it as much as I have.”

Yes, it adjusts electronically.
I noticed the back of the drivers seat is reclining. Does it adjust electronically to a more vertical position.
@faugrad I also have an 02 Cabriolet with 100K, no metal in the filter, runs GREAT. I think there are 1000’s of good IMS bearing that have needlessly been replaced. GLWTA😎
Yes, there are 2 keys. No issues with security system.
Bid in the amount of $13,000
@baronw2 are there 2 keys included and ever any issues with the security system?
@AtLast - When the bearing seal fails it will result in less oil going to the bearing which will slowly wear it down resulting in metal shavings in your oil. That's why I stated "and the oil filter doesn't have metal shavings you'll be fine". It's not sudden death when the seal fails. Change the oil every 5k miles and cut open your filter and check it. If there are metal shavings then replace the bearing, so if you are proactive you can prevent complete failure.
I stand by my opinion that the M96 is a lot more reliable than the internet gives it credit for.

@faugrad Hey Mr. KnowItAll, IMS failures at high mileage takes place when the bearing's seals fail. I found out the hard way, and the indy shop told me they see the seals failing in nearly every high mileage bearing they replace (about 20 a year).
No leaks in the car. The top is original. I just replaced the latch mechanism and recalibrated the system. I have used the ragtop cleaner and waterproofing since I bought the car.
I am selling because I have decided to return to a one car family.
Hi seller- It looks great. Just a a few questions. 1) Any leaks currently occurring on the car? 2)Is that the original convertible top? 3) Why are you selling it?
If the IMS hasn't failed after 21 years and over 100k miles and the oil filter doesn't have metal shavings you'll be fine. The IMS failure rate is somewhere around 5% and usually occurred early in a cars life.
The IMS issue isn't the Achilles heel it is made out to be but all the IMS retrofitters surely want you to think so. I'd be more worried about driving an original B6 S4 than a 996 any day of the week as the timing chain tensioner failure on the Audi is at least guaranteed unlike the IMS failure.
No work has been done on ims bearing. My car has been driven 106,700 miles with no problems.
@seller
Has the IMS bearing been retrofitted?
