Up for auction is this low-mileage 2002 Porsche 996 Carrera finished in Guards Red over a black leather interior. This particular example has been kept under the diligent care of its original owner from new. With factory options including the M030 special rigid chassis, Advanced Technic Package, and Comfort Package, this 996 was sold at an original sticker price of just under $80k. Showing only 21k miles on the odometer, this exceptional 996 Carrera is being listed by its original owner out of Alabama accompanied by a clean title and Carfax report.
Reported to have always been garage-kept and only driven under ideal conditions, the Guards Red paint is said to be excellent with clear paint protection film applied over the front end (detailed images are provided in the photo gallery). The factory 18” light alloy Carrera wheels exhibit some minor imperfections and are currently dressed in Continental tires.
Inside, the black leather interior is reported to be in excellent condition with all gauges and accessories remaining fully functional. Options listed on the original window sticker include the following:
The 3.6 L flat-six engine produces 320 HP, which is sent to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual gearbox. 0-60 MPH is achieved in as little as 5 seconds while reaching a top speed of over 170 mph. With the M030 option selected, this 996 benefits from suspension components that increase firmness while reducing body roll. Consistent routine maintenance has been performed including a recent major service conducted within the last 1k miles. The IMS bearing has not been addressed and the car is said to be in excellent running order.
Included in the sale of this impeccably well-kept Carrera is a set of two keys, original books and tools, service records, and a clean title.

Sadly went above my pre-set max (there are a couple very similar cars in my area for sale at this price w/o the extra PCAR/transport fees) - enjoy the car!
@Ajverga great buy enjoy!
@Skindoc thank you. Skin doc. I’m a retiring physician

Right colors, right miles, 1 owner. They don't come much better than this one.
Factor in ~2k for IMS, buyer fee from PCAR and maybe transportation and you're still under 40k.
GLWA!
@Ajverga worth it.
Mercy where is your bid??

Eventually people will awake from their turkey coma and bid on this great car. Super low miles and who cares about the IMS. Just get it fixed. For the 996 non turbo/GT it doesn’t get much better than this fine example.

@futureartist no there isn’t. I’m the only owner and I’ve never over revved it.
Is there perhaps a DME (over-rev) report for the car?
Bid in the amount of $19,500
Bid in the amount of $19,000
@rhmoritz I would think it’s in about as good a cosmetic shape as any example out there. Has been in climate controlled garage since new. Steady bra use since new. No rubbing from bra. I think literally one tiny chip has been touched up on hood. No dings. If I wasn’t retiring I would not sell.
@rhmoritz car has never dripped at all. No oil analysis. Tires were new about three years ago. Probably have a couple thousand miles total
Hi
How do i know if the reserve has been met?
Thanks
@TGwahoo Thanks for posting the start up video. Any oil leaks or weeping noted from the underside of the motor/trans? Was an oil analysis ever done? Date codes on the tries? Well looked after example!
A new video and photo of the window sticker have been added to the listing.
@Blrmkr Original
Rms. Fully functional. No clear film. Has been driven since new with bra on highways so has not been chipped. Can see bra in picture of trunk. Will be included with cover in sale. Mirror covers also used so no chips to mirrors.
Beautiful car! Is the paint protection film on the front bumper only? Still have the original RMS with no leaks?
Bid in the amount of $18,750
@rhmoritz start up video has been sent to pcar plus original
Window sticker for uploading.
@TGWahoo will send video of car start tomorrow. Raining today where car is located.
@Ajverga thanks for nice comments. Don’t know if a single best thing I like. Love sound and handling. Not really anything I don’t like. I have four Porsches and have probably owned a dozen thru the years. Miss all I have sold. I enjoy taking care of them, the cleaning waxing whatever.
@TGWahoo This is one beautiful car! The care you have put into it shows, I am sure selling it was not an easy decision. What would you say is the best feature of this car? Your least favorite?
@nobrakes Agree. If I wasn’t retiring I wouldn’t be selling it. A blast to drive. Has always been driven with a bra on it on highway so chip free. Bra and cover included with car. Can see them in trunk picture. Thanks for comments.
@mdavidson has been serviced yearly despite only averaging a thousand miles a year. Have all records. Big service at 20500 miles.
Wow! Great example of what will certainly prove to be the MOST important and collectible of the water cooled 911's. These cars romp and are thoroughly analog. Its spared the interior bling that detracts from a 997. Best ass of any 911, bar none. There is nary a sharp angle on its beautifully organic shape... those headlights are perfect for this design. The steering on these C2's is as good as it gets. I've owned my '02 C2 Speed Yellow 6-speed since new, still sporting its original IMS bearing and has been bullet proof reliable. This from a guy who has owned dozens of Porsches. GLWTS
Thanks. Also, what service records do you have? Carfax only shows one service in 2006, but I'm sure there are others.
Bid in the amount of $18,500
@rhmoritz Can do later in week when I’m back at location of car. Thanks for looking. Tom
Beautiful 996! Can you provide undercarriage photos and start up video?
@agt6381 Have all maintenance records since new. Car never tracked. I have four Porsches and baby them. Only selling due to retirement. IMs not done
@mdavidson at 20500 miles major tune up with new plugs and cleaning of fuel injectors. Have all service records since new.
@RLTCo Just a reflection. No stains or marks to interior. leather is in great shape. Was lexoled once a month and car has not sat outside since new
@mdavidson Correct
@Andy804 carpet is as new under the little rug. Car has not sat out in sun. Has been in my garage or in shaded parking at work
Can we see what's under the rug that's on the rear shelf behind the rear seats on photo 43?
What work was performed during the most recent "major service" mentioned?
@agt6381 The listing states that IMS has not been addressed.
What is the mark that appears on the driver's seat; is it just a reflection?
Do you have maintenance records? Has IMS, RMS, AOS and coolant pipes been replaced? Can a PPI be performed before final sale?
