The Lexus SC430 draws inspiration from the Lexus Sport Coupe concept which debuted at the Tokyo Motor Show in 1999, proven by its elegant design and grand-touring nature. As the second-generation SC, it features a convertible hardtop, a powerful 4.3-liter V8 engine, and luxurious interior amenities. Finished in Indigo Ink Pearl over a Saddle leather interior, this 2002 example is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Colorado showing just under 59k miles on the odometer.

The streamlined bodywork of the SC430 showcases styling largely inspired by yachting design with emphasis placed on aerodynamics for a comfortable top-down driving experience. Details include a power-retractable aluminum hardtop, front fog lights, xenon headlights with washers, a rear spoiler, and dual exhaust outlets. This example comes finished in Indigo Ink Pearl and rides on factory 18” aluminum wheels dressed in newer Velozza ZXV4 tires. The seller notes signs of road wear along the front end, two small dents on the driver’s side rear quarter panel, and some areas of paintwork. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with paint meter readings and a clean CARFAX report.

The cabin features Saddle leather upholstery spanning the seating surfaces, center console, and door panel inserts, complemented by polished wood trim along the door panels, center console, and steering wheel. Equipment includes power-adjustable seats with memory functions, automatic climate control, cruise control, a navigation module, a CD/cassette stereo with a 6-disc changer, and a 9-speaker Mark Levinson sound system. The seller confirms all gauges, accessories, and electronics are working properly.

The second-generation SC is powered by a 4.3-liter 3UZ-FE V8 engine featuring VVT-i variable timing. Up to 300 HP and 325 lb.-ft of torque are sent to the rear wheels through a 5-speed automatic transmission. Performance features include variable-assist power rack and pinion steering, double-wishbone front and rear suspension systems, traction control, and stability control. The CARFAX report provides a total of 20 service history records, including recommended maintenance carried out in November of 2022.

This sale will include a clean title, owner’s manuals, and two keys.

The seller would like you to know: "This is a very clean and straight SC430 with low original miles. It is a "driver condition" vehicle. This is a very original car, runs and drives great!"

@maladent No rust anywhere that I can see on the car. The good news is that we don't use salt on the roads in CO in the winter!

One of the nicest cars I have had the pleasure of owning. From the specification, the absolute reliability and the elegant looks - it is worth every dollar and cent.

I had this exact colour and once polished it just looked beautiful. The sun bounces off it.

A set of modern alloy wheels from the facelift version is all I would put on the car and it will transform the looks even more.

It’s a car that will make you smile and relax you at the same time.

@98Fairwood -I'll put up a photo with the trunk cover extended, but I'm pretty sure you won't be able to get two sets of clubs in the trunk with the top down. The good news is that there is plenty of room in the back seat for all necessary golf equipment. And for the money you will save on this car vs. a Corvette or Porsche 911 of the same vintage, will pay for your caddy to deliver the clubs to the golf course!

could you post a picture of trunk with hardtop retracted..wondering what amount of room remains (ie 2 golf bags)

@Ratbikerlowrider2000 -Hi, under every Lexus skin is a Toyota, which is probably one of the most reliable cars out there! We are a used dealer located in Boulder, CO. And this is a rear wheel drive car. The car runs and drives really well, we haven't seen any mechanical issues, everything is in working order.

  • Ratbikerlowrider2000 1 year, 7 monthsago

This car interests me for my daughter. Is it a reliable car? Rear wheel or front wheel drive?
Do you know what the shipping costs would be? What type of dealer are you? (small/rehab)?

  • floman (registered bidder) 1 year, 7 monthsago

Gents, thanks for the feedback. Most helpful.

  • ponchosdad (seller) 1 year, 7 monthsago

@floman HI, I'm 6'0 and have plenty of legroom and headroom. The cockpit seems to me to be a little larger than an SL, Corvette etc. Surprisingly the back seat is somewhat useable as a seat!

  • rampante550 (registered bidder) 1 year, 7 monthsago

I'm 6'5" and was always comfortable in these. Space from backseats give you a little extra room to lean back further if you need it. If I recall correctly, it's comparable or maybe slightly more legroom as the SLs, Corvettes, and XKs of the time

  • floman (registered bidder) 1 year, 7 monthsago

@ponchosdad, Gorgeous car. Can you, or anyone else, comment on legroom for taller drivers. Thanks.
