Available for auction is this 2002 Ford Thunderbird finished in Evening Black over a Midnight Black leather interior. Launched in 2002 at the height of the retro-boom which brought us cars like the New Beetle and the S197 Mustang, the eleventh generation Thunderbird heavily evoked the model's first generation. This single owner 2002 example was originally delivered by Sheridan Ford of Mississauga, Ontario. It is said to have been ordered by the seller at a model launch event, and is among the first 1,000 models to be delivered to owners with a special die cast model of the car. Features include a 3.9L V8 engine paired with a 5-speed automatic transmission, a removable hardtop, the Black Appearance package, dual-zone automatic climate control, and more. It is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Toronto, Canada while showing just under 5k miles on the odometer.
The eleventh generation Thunderbird is heavily inspired by the first-generation model, and similarities can be seen in the egg-crate grille, chromed windshield surround, hood scoop and round taillights. This example comes finished in Evening Black with a black power retractable soft top and a color matched hardtop. The seller reports that the finish remains exceptionally well preserved, and notes that the rear bumper was refinished for cosmetic purposes. Detailed images can be found in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX. Details include integrated fog lights, Thunderbird-script badges, a dual-outlet exhaust system, and chrome 17″ seven-spoke wheels. The wheels come dressed in a set of Michelin Pilot HXMXM4 tires bearing date codes from 2002.
Inside, power adjustable front bucket seats are upholstered in Midnight Black leather with Thunderbird logo embroidery. Black carpets line the floors and aluminum look trim accent the dashboard and door panels. The premium Black Appearance package adds high-gloss black trim to the leather-wrapped steering wheel and shifter surround. Amenities include dual-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, an 8-speaker Audiophile sound system with an in-dash six-CD changer, and more. A full list of factory features can be seen on the window sticker which is available for reference in the gallery. The seller confirms that all gauges, accessories, and electronics remain functional.
Power comes from a Jaguar designed AJ-30 3.9L DOHC V8 engine, which drives the rear wheels by way of a 5-speed automatic transmission. Four wheel independent suspension and power assisted 4-wheel ventilated disc brakes are standard. The CARFAX includes nine service history entries dating back as far as 2011, and the seller notes that the car has been serviced twice per year through their local Ford dealer.
This sale will include owner literature, the original window sticker and sales documents, a hardtop stand, a collectible die cast model of the car, and a clean title.

Hello everybody. This one owner low miles car auction is ending today. Vehicle has just over 8,000 KMs all original with the exception of rear bumper being repainted by local Ferrari body shop. Car has been serviced every year regardless of miles. It comes with boxes of collectible items from Ford (only first 1000 cars sold came with)including a metal model of the car. This vehicle is poised to appreciate in value, especially with its cool retro styling. I don’t think there are many of these, this well preserved and one owner. Good luck! Let me know if you have any qs.

good morning on the second last day of the auction for the preserved "like new" 2002 Ford Thunderbird. Since the car was built in the US it is quite easy for a private individual to import the car back with no duty. Toronto is about 1.5 hours from the Buffalo and the border. If one wanted to change the odometer to Miles there is local shop that specializes in this and can change the odometer for $250. https://www.niagaraodometer.com/ They have done 1000s of cars including many Fords. I will post up paint meter readings later today to show the paint is all original with the exception of the rear bumper which was redone at the local Ferrari bodyshop European Autobody. I will answer any questions on this vehicle and will help the purchaser to make the process very easy. I have a reasonable very safe transport company I have used extensively and can recommend. Good luck someone is going to get a great car!
@Turbodan Photo 92 shows the speedometer. It shows the speed in Miles and Kms.
I have added some additional photos of the speedo, the collectible items that came with the car including the metal model car. Let me know if you have any questions. This is a well preserved timecapsule new car that gets a lot of attention and drives like new:)
Additional content has been added to the gallery for this listing.
the speedo is in both KMs and Miles. The outside ring on the analog speedo is KMs and the inside ring is in Miles.
Is the speedometer in Canadian Kilometers or American Miles?
Guys day 2 is here. This is a cool basically brand new car that is ready to go. I personally think this car will appreciate and would be a beautiful addition to any collection. All original paint (except the rear bumper-refinished concours quality). This car has been babied all of its life.
Welcome to the auction of the 2002 Ford Thunderbird! This car is like a time capsule; it is like brand new throughout. I am helping the original owner Donna who ordered this car when it was first announced. This was her weekend summer sports car. I will be posting some video and am available to answer any questions. We have boxes of collector items, original build sheet, window sticker, service history and of course a clean car fax.
