An homage to the classic BMW 507 Roadster of the 1950s, the BMW Z8 was designed by Henrik Fisker featuring timeless styling, a lightweight aluminum chassis, and the legendary S62 V8 borrowed from the E39 M5. The Z8 became an instant automotive icon following its role as the hero car in the 1999 James Bond film, The World is Not Enough. One of approximately 2,500 examples delivered to the United States, this particular Z8 is said to be one of only 223 configured in Black over a Crema Nappa leather interior. It was acquired by the seller from a long-term previous owner and was listed for auction on PCARMARKET in 2022. Having been meticulously maintained including nearly $20k worth of recent service, this Z8 is now being offered by its seller out of New York showing just over 18k miles on the odometer. This example was ordered in Black (668) with a matching removable hardtop and convertible soft top. Equipment includes a two-piece chrome-trimmed grille and fender vents with BMW roundels said to have been inspired by the classic BMW 507, encapsulated bi-xenon headlights, neon-tube taillights, integrated polished exhaust tips, fog lights, polished mirrors and door handles, and black upholstered roll hoops. It rides on factory 18” Style 59 double-spoke forged light-alloy wheels. The seller notes the convertible top was recently replaced and the undercarriage remains pristine as the car was never driven in the rain. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The interior of this Z8 is appointed with Crema (P1CS) Nappa leather upholstery covering the sports seats, door panels, lower dashboard, and central tunnel. Body-colored painted trim covers the upper dashboard, steering wheel airbag cover, and shifter surround. The driver-oriented cockpit features a leather-wrapped three-spoke steering wheel, an aluminum shift knob, and a central instrument cluster housing a 150-MPH speedometer, an 8K-RPM tachometer, and gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. All knobs, switches, and primary touchpoints are sculpted from aluminum. The factory infotainment system is hidden behind a door located in the center stack. Driver amenities include remote keyless entry, a push-button ignition, a 10-speaker Harmon Kardon sound system, an auto-dimming interior mirror, and a passenger-side cup holder. The seller indicates the dashboard was recently replaced along with several other interior components.
Shared with the E39 M5 sedan, the Z8 features a 4.9-liter S62 V8 engine with double-VANOS variable valve timing, quad hollow camshafts, lightweight aluminum construction, and individual throttle bodies. Up to 394 HP and 368 lb.-ft of torque is delivered to the rear wheels through a 6-speed manual gearbox and limited-slip differential, allowing the Z8 to reach 60 MPH from a standstill in approximately 4.5 seconds with an electronically limited top speed of 155 MPH. The seller notes approximately $4k in engine service was recently carried out.
This sale will include the original hardtop, a car cover, and a clean title.

Not if you’re the seller.
Wow, the last few Z8’s have gone at relatively “reasonable” prices vs the COVID-Hype era. Nice to see.

Final Hours — Don’t Miss Out!
Black-on-tan BMW Z8 in collector-grade condition — 400hp V8, 6-speed manual, showroom fresh. Values are climbing fast, and this one is ready to enjoy or tuck away as a blue-chip investment. When it’s gone, it’s gone — bid now!
Good morning!
Today is the final day to own this beautiful and highly collectible BMW Z8. Finished in striking black over tan, this car is in exceptional condition — it has never seen rain or snow and has been meticulously maintained. If you’ve never driven a Z8, it’s an absolute thrill — exhilarating behind the wheel and breathtaking to look at. I’m only selling because I simply don’t drive it anymore, and I’d rather see someone enjoy it than let it sit. With values climbing and pristine examples like this becoming increasingly rare, this is a unique opportunity to own an appreciating modern classic. Good luck to all bidders!
The 20,000 included the new soft top and everything associated with it which included the leather on the dash. When they replaced the roof they damaged the leather. I then needed to repair it. So I replaced it all. It looks and is the same material that BMW used and it looks perfect. Better then new.
Sorry for my late response on comments I was actually fishing offshore since yesterday out on the east end of Long Island. I’m a big tuna / sword fishing fanatic etc., and just got back. Right now at my house on the east end of Long Island and all the paperwork is at my other home but if I recall the 4000 was BMW themselves I just had them do a basic full check of the car at that point in time that really wasn’t much work done except the basics because the car is in such good shape, but they did a bunch of tweaking / general …. replace belts, fluids, etc. I can’t remember what but just general maintenance etc. I do have the bill of course and I could show you what was done , but of course it was BMW and one of the reasons why it was so expensive.
What was done for $20k in service. Why dash replacement?
Could you tell me what the 4K in engine work consisted of? Thanks
If any other comments I will be at the mercy of the wireless on the plane. Not sure it will work. Taking off in a few minutes. 3.5 hr flight back to New York. Thanks !
Of course I also have the hardtop itself.
I have not had the hardtop on the car since I bought her. I have never driven the car in winter or inclement weather.
Thank you.
On runway now so will do fast.
Have all except coffee table. I want to reconfirm windscreen. Is that what is in place when top down ?
What about
- windscreen
- tonneau cover
- coffee table book
- hardtop stand
- harstop stand cover
Thank you for your first bid. If anyone has any questions please ask. This Z8 is as clean as it gets. Engine, undercarriage etc spotless. Garaged since I have owned her (18 yrs). NEVER driven in rain, snow. Though she is the best ride I ever had, I just never drive the car. I would sincerely like to see the car enjoyed by someone that will drive her. To all, good luck!
