We are pleased to present this 2002 BMW Z8 Roadster finished in Jet Black over a Crema Nappa Leather interior. Developed under the codename "E52" between 1993 and 1999, the Z8 was originally designed as a styling exercise paying homage to the legendary BMW 507. A total of 5,703 Z8s were built and equipped with the venerable S62 V8 borrowed from the E39 M5, mated to a 6-speed manual transmission. This single-owner 2002 example is believed to have spent its life in Massachusetts before being acquired by the selling dealer. Under the care of the seller, it has received a new set of Continental tires and a Performance Package strut-tower brace. This highly collectible BMW is now being offered for auction by its seller out of New York while showing approximately 9,600 miles on the odometer.
The aluminum bodywork of the Z8 was designed by Henrick Fisker and features styling cues that recall the classic 507 including fender vents with BMW roundels and distinctive front grilles. This Z8 is finished in Jet Black with a black power-operated soft top and body-colored removable hardtop. Additional features include xenon headlamps, fog lights, neon tube tail lights, chrome side mirrors, and dual polished exhaust tips. It rides on a set of Z8-specific 18” Style 59 split-spoke forged alloy wheels dressed in Continental ExtremeContact Sport tires from 2021. The seller notes the finish shows a few minor stone chips commensurate with normal road use and that one of the headlights was replaced due to fading of the lens.
Inside, Crema Nappa leather covers the deeply bolstered sports seats, door panels, lower dashboard, and central tunnel. The driver is supplied with a leather-wrapped three-spoke banjo-style steering wheel and primary touchpoints sculpted from aluminum. Amenities include heated power-adjustable seats, remote keyless entry, a push-button ignition, a 10-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, an auto-dimming interior mirror, upholstered roll-over hoops, and a car phone hidden in the center armrest. The seller notes that the rearview mirror was replaced and confirms that all gauges and accessories remain functional.
Power comes from a front mid-mounted 4.9L S62 V8 engine shared with the E39 M5 sports sedan. The lightweight aluminum S62 uses double-VANOS variable valve timing, quad hollow camshafts, and individual throttle bodies to produce up to 394 HP and 368 lb.-ft of torque. The rear wheels are driven by way of a 6-speed manual transmission and a mechanical limited-slip differential allowing the Z8 to reach 60 MPH from a standstill in approximately 4.5 seconds, on to an electronically governed top speed of 155 MPH. This example has been enhanced with the Z8 Performance Package front suspension brace. The CARFAX report includes 13 service history entries through BMW dealers dating back to 2002, and the seller notes that all services are currently up to date. A major service was carried out in April 2022 including a full fluid flush, a transmission service, a four-wheel alignment, and a new starter.
This sale will include a hardtop cover and stand, a sunshade, a first-aid kit, manufacturer’s literature, a window sticker, and a clean title.

@TT578RR There was a scratch and several scuffs. No damage but the scratch was deep enough that it needed to be repainted. No accidents or body damage whatsoever.
Could you please be a bit more specific about repainting the front bumper? With only 9k mileage, it seems unusual. Was there some damage or was it road rash? Perhaps a speed bump scrap the the lower guard?

I believe this car was on BAT a few months back. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2002-bmw-z8-63/
@TT578RR I will take paint meter readings and post the results. I repainted the front bumper and did some minor touch up. The interior is very clean. It as would be expected for a 9k mile car. It has just been throughly detailed.
Beautiful car. Can you tell me if there has been any work done to the body or paint, even minor? Can you provide paint meter readings? Also, are there any scuff marks or blemishes in the interior?
