One of the rarest and most sought-after modern BMWs, this 2002 M Coupe is one of only 678 examples produced for the United States with the updated S54 engine of the E46 generation M3. It comes finished in Titanium Silver Metallic over black Nappa leather and features a host of upgrades including H&R suspension, Ireland Engineering subframe bushings, a UUC short shifter, Dinan Stage 1 tune, stainless steel brake lines, and more. Recently fortified with upgraded rod bearings, this M Coupe is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Illinois while showing just over 54k miles on the odometer.
This M Coupe is one of 544 examples finished in Titanium Silver Metallic and features front fender vents, M-specific bumpers, side skirts, a rear hatch spoiler, and quad exhaust outlets. The stud-mounted 17” Style 40 Roadstar wheels were refinished in 2021 and painted in Chrome Shadow, a color borrowed from the E39 generation M5. The seller states rubber moldings have been replaced as needed and the car’s paint remains in good overall condition, detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin is trimmed in black Nappa leather and includes heated seats and air conditioning as well as a Harman/Kardon premium sound system. The steering wheel has been rewrapped and custom engraved pedal covers have been installed along with a Panavise no-drill phone mount, a leather Z sunroof shade insert, a Whalen Shift Machine stainless-steel gear knob, and a Whalen aluminum hood release. The seller adds that the common sagging glovebox and dimming rearview mirror issues have been addressed and the leather upholstery was touched-up with dye about 2k miles ago.
Power comes from a naturally aspirated 3.2-liter S54 inline six-cylinder engine, which produced up to 315 HP and 251 lb-ft of torque when new. The rear wheels are driven by way of a ZF 5-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The engine received new upgraded rod bearings and ARP bolts at 54k miles and features a Dinan Stage 1 tune. The suspension has been fitted with Ireland Engineering trailing arm bushings, H&R springs and sway bars, Rogue Engineering reach shock mounts, and Koni Yellow adjustable dampers. Other upgrades include stainless steel brakes lines, a UUC Double Shear Selector Rod (DSSR) short shifter, and Ireland Engineering subframe bushings. The seller states the alternator was replaced at 33k miles, the clutch and shift pins were replaced at 44k miles, and the hydraulic clutch line was replaced in 2021 along with new brake pads.
This sale will include a clean title.

@Benoit25racing that’s from an old ad before we bought the car. Most dealers use SEM paint to dye and match bmw leather.
@collectorcars from the listing: " The seller adds that the common sagging glovebox and dimming rearview mirror issues have been addressed and the leather upholstery was touched-up with dye about 2k miles ago." I'm referring to the dye that was used to "touch up" the leather.
@Benoit25racing we didn’t dye the leather! We haven’t touched a thing on this car!
Hello, you mention that the leather was "dyed". Is there a smell in the cockpit from the dye application (eg off-gassing of the solvent)? Thanks

The car is an absolute blast to drive. If you’ve owned an E36 M3 imagine that with the S54 E46 M3 engine and that is this car! Amazing steering and handling! Lots of power and torque! The condition is impeccable! I would rate the exterior 10/10 along with the interior 10/10. If you are a dealer and familiar with CR report I would give it a 5 out of 5! All vin tags are present! This one checks all the boxes! It doesn’t skip a beat! The upgrades are tasteful and I can’t find myself not wanting them on! All high quality parts!
