Regarded as one of the all-time greatest sports sedans, BMW’s E39 M5 is renowned for its naturally aspirated S62 V8 engine paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. This 2002 example is finished in Blue Water Metallic over a two-tone Black and Silverstone leather interior. Benefitting from a Dinan Exhaust, recent service, and long-term ownership, this M5 is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Texas while showing less than 70k miles on the odometer.
Finished in Blue Water Metallic, this M5 rides on 18” Style 65 wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport tires from 2023. The E39 M5 is distinguishable from a standard 5-series by Shadowline trim, revised bumpers and side skirts, aerodynamic mirrors, a trunk lid spoiler, and quad exhaust outlets. Additional equipment includes xenon headlights with washers, fog lights, and M5 badging on the trunk lid and side moldings. The seller notes a small ding and some minor chips and scratches. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with paint meter readings and a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin is upholstered in Black and Silverstone embossed leather with Individual Fine Wood trim and an Anthracite Alcantara headliner. Equipment includes a three-spoke M Sport multifunction leather-wrapped steering wheel, an M-branded gear shift lever, and M5-badged door sills. Amenities include an electric sunroof, power-adjustable and heated seats with memory, automatic climate control, and navigation. The seller reports that the driver’s seat back is not functioning properly, and that the stereo works, however, the fuse has been removed due to battery draw.
The E39 M5 equips a 4.9-liter S62 V8 engine with double-VANOS variable valve timing, individual throttle bodies, hollow camshafts, and a quasi-dry-sump lubrication system. The M5 sends up to 394 HP and 369 lb.-ft of torque to its rear wheels by way of a Getrag 420G 6-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential, allowing acceleration from 0-60 MPH in as little as 4.8 seconds, going on to reach an electronically limited top speed of 155 MPH. The seller reports that a Dinan exhaust has been fitted, and recent maintenance includes new spark plugs and the replacement of a coil pack, along with a major service having been completed in June of 2024.

@MOB2 The drivers rocker does have a small dent , it is better now as we had a ding doctor glue pull it and I will post a new photo , drivers rear has a very minor scratch and passenger side is fine , passengers front has a very minor crack but you have to look closely. New service here includes all new power steering hoses , new battery , new spark plugs ( detailer power washed the engine ) and one new coil pack .
The left rocker panel seems to have a dent or is just the photo? The wood trim on both rear doors also seem to have scratches, photo or not? More detail on all maintenance and pictures of the bottom of the car please.
