One of the most celebrated sports sedans of all time, the E39 generation BMW M5 is equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission connected to a 4.9-liter S62 V8 engine with individual throttle bodies and double-VANOS variable valve timing. This 2002 example is finished in Titanium Silver Metallic over Black and Silverstone leather upholstery and features upgraded KW coilovers and modified exhaust with Magnaflow tips. It was purchased by the seller, its third owner, in the summer of 2019 and is said to have been carefully driven with less than 7k kilometers added since. Now with approximately 178k kilometers or 110k miles showing on the odometer, this M5 is being offered for auction out of Canada accompanied by over a decade's worth of service records.

The M5 features more aggressive bodywork than a standard E39 5-Series and comes equipped with aerodynamic sport mirrors, xenon “angel eye” headlights, gloss black Shadowline trim, M5-badged body moldings, a body-colored trunk lid spoiler, and quad exhaust outlets. This example is finished in Titanium Silver Metallic with optional Park Distance Control (PDC) sensors, an electric sunroof, aftermarket Magnaflow exhaust tips, black front kidney grilles, and factory 18” M double-spoke wheels. The current tires are recommended for replacement and an additional set of used OEM wheels is included in the sale. The seller indicates the windows have been tinted and the exterior has been professionally detailed. A clean CARFAX report is provided in the gallery.

The cabin is appointed with Black and Silverstone embossed leather upholstery complemented by brushed aluminum trim. Accessories include heated 10-way power sport seats with memory and lumbar support, an electrically-adjustable steering column, auto-dimming and power-folding mirrors, rain-sensing wipers, remote keyless-entry dual-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, a multifunction M Sport steering wheel, M5-branded door sills and floor mats, M-specific instrument dials, an M Sport shift knob, a premium sound system, and a BMW navigation system. A removable cupholder insert and a European-spec armrest have been installed, although the original parts are included in the sale. Some wrinkles are noted on the driver’s seat and the digital cluster display is missing several pixels. The seller has offered to fix the display at an additional cost for the next owner.

The E39 M5 equips a 4.9-liter S62 V8 engine with double-VANOS variable valve timing, individual throttle bodies, hollow camshafts, and a quasi-dry-sump lubrication system. The S62 produces up to 394 HP and 369 lb.-ft of torque, which is delivered to the rear wheels through a Getrag 420G 6-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. This M5 has been modified with a KW coilover suspension and a muffler delete. The seller indicates all routine maintenance has been kept up to date and the car has been serviced by the specialists at either Bimmersport or Autotrend since 2011 with all corresponding records available.

This sale will include an additional set of wheels, the original armrest, owner’s manuals, a car cover, and a clean title.

The seller would like you to know: “3rd owner I've had it since summer 2019. always stored indoors under a cover. Never tracked, only driven on nice summer days. I've put less than 7k km on it since then. it's been very well taken care of only cleaned with quality products and conditioned leather every year before storage. It sits on KW coilovers and comes with two sets of rims. I have all the original parts as well. Zero rust anywhere. Very hard to find an example this clean unless you're looking at much lower mileage/km.”

@MidwestBMW no that was done with the last owner. I would assume maybe the seal?. I had the a/c done, other than that’s there’s been zero issue with any leaks

  • MidwestBMW (registered bidder) 4 months, 2 weeksago

Picture #66 shows the diff is leaking or was leaking. Do you have any info on where its leaking from?

  • Connreale (seller) 4 months, 2 weeksago

@A11111K if it’s not in the records I can’t say it’s been done. I’ve taken it in for regular inspections it shows no symptoms of needing. The km are 178k so from looking it up just now it’s in the lower range of when it’s recommended. With the condition of the car it’s not surprising that it doesn’t need it yet but if you want to be preventive it’s definitely something to consider to be fair

  • A11111K (registered bidder) 4 months, 2 weeksago

@Connreale sounds good. Any idea about the timing chain guides? Have they been replaced? When was the last time they were done? Thanks!

  • Connreale (seller) 4 months, 2 weeksago

@A11111K I’ve asked the shop about the vanos they say it doesn’t need it so don’t do it. If someone wants to call a mechanic in the area or the shop I’ve used (auto trend) I’m more than happy to cooperate.

  • Connreale (seller) 4 months, 2 weeksago

@A11111K there’s no accidents it would’ve likely have to have been pretty small whatever it was. Maybe some kind ding from a door opening or shopping cart is my best guess

  • Connreale (seller) 4 months, 2 weeksago

@MidwestBMW depends on your state I would try asking ChatGPT to get a rough idea

  • MidwestBMW (registered bidder) 4 months, 2 weeksago

What is the process to import into the United States?

  • A11111K (registered bidder) 4 months, 2 weeksago

Hey. What was the dent removal for? Carfax shows no accidents/damage reported. Also has the vanos been dealt with/rebuilt and how are the timing chain guides? Thanks!

@Ron1999 I've uploaded the requested photos/videos. Everything is is good working order. I re-seated the rubber grommet in the trunk, thanks for pointing that out. Never had any leaks anywhere in the car. I generally try to avoid driving it in the rain but I did get caught out earlier this year in a heavy fall, as well as the many times I've sprayed it down and I can confidently say there's no evidence of any water ever getting inside from a leak. For the wheel wells it's pretty hard to get in there with the limited space but hopefully you can see well enough, very clean everywhere. Feels like I spend more time cleaning it than I do driving it. I forgot to show the pdc working but it's good too. I can get a video another day if you'd like. I always kept it off because personally didn't like hearing it.

  • Ron1999 (registered bidder) 4 months, 2 weeksago

    Nice M5 example :)

Did the trunk wire loom was services? replaced?
It looks like its grommet is not seated well?
in addition, following that, did the car had any water accumulation / condensation problem anywhere in the trunk/ rear seats/ under front pass seat?
Any chance to get pictures of the wheel wells and gas door area?

    Also -
Rear sun shades, doors and rear window, are they operational?
PDC - is it working well?
Folding mirrors - can you add a video of the working?

    thanks!
