Ed317, thanks for your quick response , I know that the major shippers are having scheduling issues with our current environmental restrictions.
@Lexday47 I believe that all paint is original
I am not an expert however Sigi the owner of SV paint and body could not find any signs of repaint anywhere.
@Lexday47 YES. I can store it for a reasonable amount of time .....
Also has the car had any paintwork
Is it possible to offer secure storage until shipping to the midwest can be arranged ?

That’s great to hear that you know Mark my mechanic so well.. He’s been a good friend of mine for over 30 years. Call him anytime as he is the one that put me onto buying this car in the first place
The car was not for sale but when Mark saw it he insisted I call the guy because it was so pristine. The previous seller was very wealthy and when I asked why he sold me the car his response was he uses it three times a year when he visit San Diego. He was frustrated because he had run out of gas this trip and had it towed to Mark shop. He said the trip before he had to replace the battery, And the trip before that he had to buy tires. He just wanted a brand new car.
Bid in the amount of $33,000
@kecho I am out of town but can have my son show the car
he is staying at my house
I have a friend interested in me looking at this car for him. Would that be possible? I'm in San Diego and available over the weekend. I will send you a PM.

@jaynar I have the code but it still didn’t work
I believe there is something wrong with the radio
I also went to get the DME report yesterday but my mechanics computer went on the fritz. I ran out of time before leaving for vacation.... Most buyers will require a PPI before shipping so it will be supplied a that time
Looks like you need to enter the code for the stereo to work. Do you have the card with the code on it? Looking forward to a DME as well.

@Flowocity We may be getting older but that just means we appreciate the finer things in life! I’m regretting that I did not put more miles on it. These turbo’s have a reputation for being trouble free...... I would be curious to see how your buddy feels about how the turbo compares to his GT3
Beautiful Machine Ed! The license plate is apropos for how you’ve kept it all these years too! Older guy here too, not a Porsche-file by no means, but being coached by a buddy who is, also old. He sold his 2001 Turbo last year and bought a GT3.. At 79 years young! He says your 996 is THE one.
@NYCPorsche996 Ok, I hate to admit it but I’m a bit older and have become a much more conservative driver over the years. The previous owner was also older than me and a conservative driver. This car has never been abused
I will check into the dme report
@AirCooledEddie @Ed317 I appreciate the quick response. Really just part of a DME report. Thank you, and happy Sunday
@AirCooledEddie @Ed317
I am leaving town Tuesday
What is entailed to get the report?
Maybe I could do it before leaving town
@NYCPorsche996 Never did one
The car has never been tracked
Hello Ed, I hope all is well and happy 4th. Do you have an over rev report you could share please? Much appreciated
@msandford74 No problem
All questions are welcome
You need to know what you are bidding on
Have a Great 4th of July
@AirCooledEddie @Ed317 thanks for getting back to me
@msandford74 No scratches anywhere
it was probably a reflection
Sorry got sidetracked. It looks like there are scratches all along the passenger side of the car. Are there?
What happened to the passenger’s side?
@fehrevilo Yes it is well appointed. I have reduced from 25 to 15 Porsches in my collection, but this is the only one I am having second thoughts about. At Ameila Island they talked about this car being better than the 997 and the lights being special. I believe that the 996 Turbo is one of the best and most under valued Porsche's out there. I reminds me of when I sold my 96 993 Turbo for $62,000....the Turbo market went nuts and .the buyer flipped it 8 months later for $140,000........
Shows up at auction, asks for reserve.
@wolfnsx, you may find this helpful: https://www.pcarmarket.com/how-it-works/
This car looks great and has some nice options. I love the dark wood interior trim. GLWA
@wolfnsx good morning
The whole idea of an auction is for people to bid on something they want, there is a reserve that I am not allowed to share. I believe that considering the condition and such low mileage this car has the potential to be a collectible car. The Mezger engine
is considered one of the most dependable motors that Porsche has ever built. You should feel comfortable bidding up to what you perceive is a value that you would want to spend. If you get it you will feel like you hit the JACKPOT.
Hi, Give me a ballpark of where you're at price wise. It's a beautiful car but still 20 years old. Please let me know. Thanks!
Hello everyone, I’m Ed the current owner of this awesome car. I have bought cars on line and understand that it is a little weird not to go and check it out in person. Fortunately, my experiences have actually all been great. When Cars show up on the truck my heart gets pumping. When it is unloaded and the car is better than expected I can’t wipe the smile off of my face . That is the experience I want the buyer to have!
I will do my best to answer any questions you may have. This car is top notch and with so few miles on it you can expect to drive it trouble free for years.
I am reducing my collection and reluctantly have decided to sell it.
