Finished in Arctic Silver Metallic over a Black interior, this 2001 Porsche 996 Carrera Cabriolet comes equipped with an optional 5-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission paired with its 3.4-liter flat-six engine. It was also factory optioned with 18” 993 Turbo-look wheels, Tiptronic steering wheel shift buttons, and Porsche Stability Management (PSM). It had been under the care of its second owner for 17 years before being acquired by the seller about 3 years ago and benefits from an IMS bearing replacement as well as an upgraded Fabspeed exhaust with high-flow catalytic converters. This 996 is now being offered for auction out of New Jersey while showing approximately 39k miles on the odometer.
This 996 is finished in Arctic Silver Metallic with a matching removable hardtop and a retractable black cabriolet roof. Equipment includes black brake calipers with white Porsche lettering, a speed-activated rear spoiler, Fabspeed quad exhaust tips, and factory 18” 993 Turbo-look wheels with colored Porsche crest center caps. It rides on a set of General G-Max RS XL tires newly mounted within the last 100 miles. The seller notes the convertible top was replaced about 5 years ago with an updated version featuring a glass rear window. A slight crease is present on the nose which was caused by a previously installed license plate bracket. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
This Carrera is appointed with a Black standard leather interior including electrically adjustable seats, automatic climate control, “Carrera” logo door sills, and an optional three-spoke steering wheel with Tiptronic shift buttons. Other features include power windows and mirrors, cruise control, and a sound system with a factory CD stereo. Some discoloration is noted on the driver’s seat and the seller reports all gauges and accessories to be fully functional apart from the digital temperature display which has some failed pixels.
Power comes from a naturally aspirated 3.4-liter flat-six engine rated at 296 HP and 258 lb.-ft of torque. The rear wheels are driven by way of a 5-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission and stopping power comes from fixed 4-piston brakes with ventilated discs at each corner. A sticker in the engine bay shows an IMS bearing replacement with an RND Engines roller bearing kit and the seller notes an upgraded Fabspeed exhaust system has been installed along with high-flow catalytic converters. Notable service items include the recent replacement of all four O2 sensors and the installation of a new battery.
This sale will include owner’s manuals, a toolkit, a spare tire, a battery charger, some documentation, and a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “I appreciate your interest in my car. Over the years I have owned several Porsches, and this is one of the nicer ones for short and long-distance driving. It has been tremendously reliable and fun to drive. With the new tires and battery, nothing has to be done until it's time for the oil and filter change.”

@Fjcprep , That loose plug is for the engine area light. Probably just needs to be plugged back in. I have pretty much the same 996 Cab.

I'm sorry but I don't know what the plug was meant to be connected to. I had nothing removed/replaced that would be connected to that fan.
Picture # 53 - There is a clear plastic plug which is hanging disconnected. Can you explain why it is disconnected, where it should be connected and why it is disconnected? Thank you.

There is a stain blemish on the driver’s seat. It appeared about a year ago and I have no idea what caused it. I’m the only driver of the car and I never spilled anything on it. Could be environmental??
I don’t have an exact date for the IMS bearing replacement. It was done by the PO and the registration number is in one of the photos. My guess over 5 years ago. The warranty I think is for 50k miles
does the driver seat have damage on the leather? when was IMS done and what mileage? thank you
