Up for auction is this 2001 Porsche 996 Carrera 4 Cabriolet 6-speed finished in Seal Grey Metallic over a black full leather interior. Signifying a major chapter in Porsche history, the 996 series was introduced as the first ever water-cooled 911 model. This 2001 Carrera 4 Cabriolet features all-wheel drive performance coupled with an exhilarating open-air experience. Equipped with exclusive factory options including both the Technic and Comfort packages as well as supple leather seats, this 996 commanded an original sticker price of over $98k. Accompanied by a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity and a clean Carfax report, this 2001 example is now being offered for auction showing approximately 69k miles on the odometer.
The Seal Grey Metallic paint is said to be in great condition, although a small ding has been noted on the top part of the passenger door. A collection of detailed images is provided in the photo gallery. Exterior features include Bi-Xenon headlights with washers, a black cabriolet top, a separate factory hardtop and aftermarket black finished wheels which come dressed in healthy Bridgestone Potenza tires from 2014. The original set of 18” Turbo-look wheels will also be included in-sale.
Inside, this 996 has been configured with a luxurious black full leather interior showcasing supple leather front and rear seats. The cabin is said to be in very nice condition with all gauges, electrical components and accessories remaining fully functional. Exclusive factory options include the Technic Package, the Comfort Package, heated front seats and a 3-spoke steering wheel in leather.
Power comes from a naturally aspirated 3.4 L flat-six engine rated at 296 HP and 258 lb.-ft of torque. All four wheels are driven by way of a 6-speed manual transmission allowing this Carrera 4 to accelerate from 0-60 MPH in as little as 5.2 seconds. The seller cannot confirm whether the IMS bearing has been addressed, although a full service was carried out very recently which included new fluids and filters. This 996 is said to be up to date on all due maintenance and remain in excellent running order.
The sale of this 996 will include a set of two keys, the original wheels and hardtop, service records, owner’s books and a Porsche Certificate of Authenticity. This Carrera 4 Cabriolet offers the perfect opportunity for any enthusiast in search of an open-air driving experience this season.

Would love to see a cold start and running video.
We will get other pics around. In addition we did talk to one of the previous owners he had an inspection done on it in 2017 by O'Daniel Porsche in Fort Wayne, they went through the list and fixed the punch list of items they found. I will add it to this file

Seller I would like to see many more pictures of the interior, soft top, hard top, and under carriage. With 10 previous owners are there any other service records you can show us? Of course the obligatory IMS status which I guess is in question with this vehicle and other mods that may have been done over the years (console ashtray). The base 01 Carrera 4 came with a MSRP of 81.5k so this one was speced up nicely. Otherwise a smart looking car that should do well. Happy hunting.
