Sporting a rare Rainforest Green Metallic finish over a Savanna Beige interior, this 2001 Porsche 996 Carrera 4 Coupe pairs a 6-speed manual transmission with its 3.4-liter flat-six engine. @Tuttebenne LOL how would you paint meter a plastic bumper? What in the world are you saying? What would be the correct tool? Paint meter is to measure the amount of paint thickness on metal panel.
@collector cars. Thanks for the information. Your statement that "you can't measure paint thickness on a bumper cover because it is plastic" is a bit misleading. YOU can't do it; and that is fine. But it CAN be done if you have the right tool.

Rainforest Green and Forest Green are quite a rare sighting. I had a Forest Green metallic and arctic silver 99 before that... noone commented on my early build 99 but everyone commented on my Green 996... These cars ride low so bumpers being resprayed should be expected... and if anyone has cleaned their radiators they should know that bumpers are held in place by a dozen torx screws etc... they come off and go back on easy and allow for adjustment. GLWS... and for what its worth - IMS not being done is a plus for me... I would rather my own mechanic do it ....

@Tuttebenne you are quite the speculator. I paint metered the entire car the picture are in the gallery. You can’t paint meter a bumper it is plastic. There are no leaks the ground is wet in the pictures.
What is the status of the IMS bearing? Has it been replaced - I don’t see any mention of that in the CARFAX records. Also do you have copies of any service records images you can post?
I too noticed the front bumper cover gap before even reading the comments. A paint depth reading might help put this to bed.
Also, in photo 146 the tube clamp is wet. Is this an indication of a leak evolving? I thought it might be from road splash but the surrounding area appears dry as a bone.

@Spiltmilk I’ve bought and sold over 50’ 996’ 911’s and and never had to do a water pump replacement. The 60K service has already been performed as stated in the ad. Engine bay pictures were uploaded into the listing gallery last week.
Yeah a couple quick photos of the engine and underside with flash would be great here. These cars can handle the weather and corrosion but it would be nice to see.
Any water pump replacement or anything? Looks like non Porsche coolant from the color I see. Coolant level is slightly under the min in the expansion tank. Any info?

Never seen this color in person. Looks similar to the emerald green metallic i had in my 93 vr6 corrado. Like a previous comment here I have a early 99 with 101k miles. I would drive it to the moon and back. The early 99s are special no glove boxes no
Cup holder and cable throttle. My car is modified to the tilt 2700 plus lbs, 330 hp, I bought an 03 turbo coupe here but the 99 is so fun to drive that I decided to keep both cars. The 996s are real comfortable too to take on long trips. I can’t take any more than 3 hours of drive time in a 993. No one should drive a car with 22 year old tires. GLWTS
@bad_idea_dante I think that’s just the angle we took the picture at. This is how the car came to us. I’m sure you can adjust the clips to make it sit up more but it’s even on both sides.
If you zoom in closer you'll notice the bumper is bowing out slightly wider and not meeting the panel above correctly on the left front of the car. I tried to take a closer screenshot for you but PCAR won't allow me to post a photo.

Can you comment on the front bumper not being perfectly aligned in photo 1/111 on the driver side? Is a clip broken on the inside? or is it unfixable without a new bumper?

I had a 993 C2 and a 993 C4S prior to the 996.
IMO, the 996C4 is a far superior driving experience to those 993s.
Whoever wins this beauty should do everything in their power to keep it from being a garage queen. Drive it! The more the better!

These are such good drivers! I had two 993s before my 996, one an impeccable C4S. The 996 is a flat out superior driving machine to both of those 993s. and not so damned garage queen precious!

@1822 thanks for your question! Someone removed the option codes sticker underneath the hood. I’m regards to IMS on the door where the vin sticker is, usually if you had the IMS done the sticker for that would be there there is residue for a sticker but I don’t have the sticker stating it has IMS done or any paper work records.
@Sjmckim9 yes tire date codes are from 2001 based on the condition of these wheels and tires it looks like these were stored in a temperature controlled environment and put on before the car was sold to us. There is no dry rotting or cracking on the tires.
Do you know if the IMS was done?
Also, if there's an option code sticker on the inside of the frunk lid, can you please post a pic of it? Thanks.
