Featuring a twin-turbocharged Mezger flat-six engine paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox, this 2001 Porsche 996 Turbo Coupe is presented in Arctic Silver Metallic over a Black leather interior. It came factory-equipped with an optional body-colored center console, aluminum handbrake and shift trim, heated seats, and Porsche Communication Management (PCM1) with the Nokia Digital Sound Procession (DSP) audio system. This 996 was purchased by the current owner less than a year ago from a Porsche dealership in Wilmington and has since been modified with a Soul performance exhaust system, a rear wiper delete, an upgraded 997 shifter assembly, and GT-style cloth door pull straps. Having spent most of its life on the West Coast, this Turbo is now being offered for auction by its seller out of North Carolina with approximately 64k miles showing on the odometer.

This 996 is finished in Arctic Silver Metallic and features Turbo-specific bodywork including wide fenders with side air intakes, unique bumpers with larger grilles, flared rocker panels, and a hydraulic speed-activated rear wing. Other equipment includes xenon headlamps, fog lights, power mirrors, dual exhaust outlets, red brake calipers, and aftermarket 19” wheels. The car rides on Continental ExtremeContact Sport tires showing date codes from 2019 in the front and 2021 in the rear.  The seller notes the rear window wiper was removed under their ownership and the exterior was clayed and ceramic-coated in 2022. Noted imperfections include scratches on the front and rear bumpers, some blemishes on the wheels, light scratches on the passenger side mirror housing, and a small dent on the rear driver’s side fender. The passenger taillight assembly is slightly loose, and the third brake light rubber molding has fallen off. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

The Black leather interior includes heated and power-operated seats, an optional Arctic Silver Metallic painted center console, a three-spoke leather steering wheel, GT-style red door pull straps, and Exclusive aluminum inlays for the shifter and parking brake handle. Other accessories include an Alcantara headliner, automatic climate control, cruise control, a remote central locking system, and optional Porsche Communication Management (PCM1) with the Nokia Digital Sound Procession (DSP) audio system. The seller notes the trip odometer reset knob broke off and some scuffs are present on the door sill guards.

A twin-turbocharged 3.6-liter Mezger flat-six engine delivers up to 415 HP and 415 lb.-ft of torque to all four wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission. Acceleration from 0-60 MPH is achieved in approximately 4 seconds while stopping power comes from fixed 4-piston brakes and cross-drilled 330mm discs at each corner. The seller notes an upgraded Soul performance exhaust system with 100-cell catalytic converters has been installed along with a Split Second turbo timer and a 997 shifter assembly with a Shift Right solution kit. A folder of documentation contains service records dating back to the original purchase and maintenance under current ownership including new front brake pads and motors, a new rear spoiler drive kit, new spark plugs, a drive belt, and fuel, oil, and air filters. The seller adds that the rear brakes may need to be replaced and the front suspension squeaks at low speeds in cold weather.

This sale will include a spare tire, a battery charger, the original exhaust and rear wiper assembly, service records, and a clean title.

The seller would like you to know: “Thank you for taking an interest in this beautiful car!  I have owned the car for almost a year now, after having owned several BMW M vehicles, and can confidently say this is by far my favorite car owned.  Unfortunately, due to an upcoming move across the state, I have to part ways with it.  As you will see the car has been meticulously maintained and cared for its entire life and you can certainly tell when you get behind the wheel or admire it as you walk away from it in the parking lot!  I recently had the 60,000-mile service performed so all necessary maintenance is up to date on the vehicle as well as a new rear spoiler kit installed at the time of service.  This car is essentially bone stock but with a couple of tasteful modifications, such as the AMAZING sounding Soul Performance Sport exhaust, 997 shifter assembly with shift right solution, and rear wiper delete.  I drive this car frequently in daily commuter traffic, and on the highway and it performs wonderfully.”

@Weavz Hi, yes there are a couple of short clips near the bottom of the posting where you can hear the exhaust at lower speeds and on cold start. Rear taillight is loose and wiggles a bit due to broken mount. It’s a common occurrence on these older 996, and there is an aftermarket piece you can purchase from Pelican Parts called a light saver which essentially fixes it without having to purchase a new light assembly.

Any video of the exhaust sound? I didn't see what picture you were talking about the passenger rear tail light assembly being loose? Whats that from, replacement?

Thanks for checking out this beautiful driver 996 turbo! I am more than happy to address any questions or concerns with the car. I want to make sure you are comfortable with the purchase and have confidence in the car. It is truly a well maintained car that drives incredibly well and sounds even better.
