Topping the range of the first water-cooled 911 generation, this Porsche 996 911 Turbo pairs a 6-speed manual transmission with its 3.6-liter Mezger flat-six. This 2001 example was originally configured at an MSRP of over $128k and is finished in Meridian Metallic over a Boxster Red Special leather interior. Other options include deleted front bumperettes, the Carbon Interior Package, a painted rear center console, leather sunvisors, heated front seats, carbon/aluminum brake and shifter handles, deviated stitching, and much more. Showing approximately 57k miles on the odometer, this Turbo is now being offered for auction by its seller out of Florida.

Finished in the seldom-seen shade of Meridian Metallic, this 996 Turbo features model-specific bumpers, wide fenders with side air intakes, flared rocker panels, red brake calipers, and a speed-activated rear spoiler. This Turbo was optioned with deleted front bumperettes and rides on 18” Turbo Twist wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires. The seller adds that full paint protection film has been applied and notes some scraping on the front lip. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.

Inside, this 911 Turbo features Boxster Red Special leather upholstery along with heated and power adjustable front seats with lumbar support and Porsche-crested headrests. Additional options include the Carbon Interior Package, a painted rear center console, the hand brake and shifter in carbon and aluminum, and deviated gray carpeting with red floor mats. Deviated stitching on the seats, door panels, and dashboard is also optionally specified, as are leather sun visors, and self-dimming mirrors & a rain sensor. Equipment includes a leather-wrapped 3-spoke steering wheel, an electric sunroof, and dual-zone climate control. The seller notes that an upgraded Porsche Classic (PCCM) head unit and aftermarket pedals have been installed. Minor wear is noted on the driver's seat bolsters and the spoiler control warning is currently illuminated.

Powered by a 3.6-liter twin-turbocharged Mezger flat-six derived from the legendary GT1 race car, this 996 Turbo sends up to 415 HP and 415 lb.-ft. of torque to all four wheels by way of a 6-speed manual transmission. Acceleration from 0-60 MPH takes place in approximately 4 seconds and braking is accomplished by fixed 4-piston calipers with 330mm cross-drilled discs at each corner. The seller reports a cold air intake with an upgraded airbox has been fitted. The CARFAX report shows a total of 22 service history entries.

This sale will include the owner’s manuals and a clean title.

The seller would like you to know: "This has been a fun consignment, I helped the owner purchase the car last year in PA. We enjoyed it for a summer in CT/Maine and subsequently sent it down to palm beach where it is now for further warm weather use. Over the past 2500~ the car has been issue free and needed nothing other than an oil and filter change which I happily performed myself. Having owned VERY troublesome 996’s and 997’s, I have been so pleased with the way this one has treated me! The color is also one that I have not seen before and is known as Meridian Metallic which looks great over the Boxster Red seats."

    @Damon410
Would be a lot less at a Porsche specialty shop. On the Micros it’s usually only one up or down. More common is the hydraulics which is a bit more expensive if you want OEM.

@EnthusiasticEnthusiast @Colterrule correct, are there some stamps in the service book ?

  • EnthusiasticEnthusiast (seller) 7 months, 4 weeksago

@carrera360 unfortunately there are no service records included.

Are you referring to the factory handbook?

  • EnthusiasticEnthusiast (seller) 7 months, 4 weeksago

@Daman410 we have the FCP euro spoiler fix kit, we were quoted under 1500$ with parts and labor from 9 auto motion a month ago but missed the appointment.

  • Daman410 (registered bidder) 7 months, 4 weeksago

I just called Porsche, $2000 estimated to fix the spoiler control microswitches if that is indeed the issue.

  • carrera360 (registered bidder) 7 months, 4 weeksago

Would you be able to share some pictures of the service book ?

    @Vehiclesofinterest Howdy!

The paint is original and meters as it should. That being said the front end of the car is PPF’d so we were only able to meter the rear half of the car during our PPI last year.

    No leaks, noises, hiccups, etc.

    Thanks!

@HansGruber Here’s the mods list that we received from the previous owner before buying the car last year. great question:

2001 turbo six speed manual Meridian Metallic over Boxster red (1 of 1).

55k miles. Original paint, no accidents. 128k+ original MSRP. Originally a California car until I brought it to the East coast 8 years ago. Clutch done at 48k by GMG in California.
KW V3 coilovers, giro-disc upgraded brakes, new Michelin pilot sport 4S tires
    EVOMS intake (stock intake available)
    PCCM+ Bluetooth head unit.
    ceramic coated a year ago
PPF on entire front end and mirrors two months ago (right before Winter storage)

Nice looking turbo, I really like the tasteful and unique color combo.
Is there a list of the mods available?
I see the air intake for sure and maybe others.
Are any of the original parts available.

@adam1980 We do have an OBD-II reader but have struggled to pull DME info. It will pull live data & obviously read codes though.

There is a small shop, 9 auto motion by us that I am going to reach out to when they open Monday morning.

From what I’ve read though, the DME report for a 996 is much more basic than that of a 997, as there are much less “ranges” that the ignitions can be classified by.

Nonetheless I will do my best to get a report asap!

Thanks for your interest and happy Saturday!

@EnthusiasticEnthusiast @Colterrule I'm not local, I wish I could suggest somewhere else to have a report done. With a laptop and durametric software anyone can do it (I've done it on my C4S ). I'm sure an independent shop would be able to perform and provide the report but I have no idea if that is feasible for you or the timeframe. It would definitely help me prepare to bid and provide good information. Thanks for your reply, I hope you're able to find a shop that can do it.

  • EnthusiasticEnthusiast (seller) 8 monthsago

@adam1980 The wait time for an appointment is currently about a week (for anything local).

If you have some pull at Porsche palm beach we would be happy to bring the car over!

  • EnthusiasticEnthusiast (seller) 8 monthsago

@Daman410 The shift knob and passenger lower panel scuff were there when the car was purchased last year.

Porsche interior carbon trim is prone to cracking with time as well, so I wasn’t surprised about the shifter.

    Thanks!

@oldsouth I don’t know when the PPF was installed but it is not yellowing, cracking, or showing any other signs of age. There is some slight peeling around the tow hook cap up front though.

    Thanks!

  • EnthusiasticEnthusiast (seller) 8 monthsago

@Siberian24 color is meridian metallic to our knowledge.

  • EnthusiasticEnthusiast (seller) 8 monthsago

@Siberian24 Correct, they are slotted rotors, the car came this way from the previous owner.

I am unsure of the brand but I’ll take a closer look at those rotors to see if they give me any hints.

    Thanks!

  • EnthusiasticEnthusiast (seller) 8 monthsago

@Autotrend The wing goes up at the correct speed, but sometimes does not come back down until the next startup cycle.

    Thanks!

  • oldsouth (registered bidder) 8 monthsago

How long has the PPF been on the car. Is there any yellowing to it? It can be a pain to remove.

  • NYSport (registered bidder) 8 monthsago

@Siberian24 Looks like Meridian Metallic to me.

  • mmatlock 8 monthsago

Looks like another cool Turbo spec, GLWA Colter.

  • Siberian24 (registered bidder) 8 monthsago

Also -7/27/23 color noted as "Silver". Ad photos do not look like "Meridian Metallic". Comments?

  • Siberian24 (registered bidder) 8 monthsago

What is happening with the brake discs? They are not cross-drilled like the OEM discs, just slotted. Possible are they Girodisc 340mm or 350mm replacements or else? 350mm discs are the largest that will fit in 18" wheels. There are no "color-Porsche crested center caps" either. Comments?

  • Autotrend (registered bidder) 8 monthsago

typically when the spoiler control warning is on that means the speed activated spoiler is not functioning up and down automatically. the photos show it only in the up position. can you confirm the correct (or non functioning) operation of the rear wing as porsche designed it. this is very important as the repair cost is in the $2,400range thankyou in advance for the reply

  • EnthusiasticEnthusiast (seller) 8 monthsago

@jmorin Yes, happy to grab some underbody pics this week thank you for your interest!

No physical records or invoices unfortunately, I did do a oil and filter change myself a back in March.

No 2nd gear popping issues that I’ve noticed either.

    Thanks!

  • jmorin (registered bidder) 8 monthsago

Are there underbody pics coming? Paint meter readings? Any actual maintenance records (not CarFax)? Any issue popping out for second gear?
