Marking the last year of the original 996 version and its 3.4-liter engine, this 2001 Porsche 996 Carrera 4 Coupe comes finished in Black over matching upholstery. It features a 6-speed manual transmission, the Power Seat Package, Technic Package, and more. Acquired by the seller approximately two years ago, the vehicle has received extensive servicing, including the replacement of the IMS bearing and rear main seal. Showing approximately 102k miles on the odometer, this Carrera is now being offered for auction out of Washington.
This example comes finished in Black and rides on a set of 18” Sport Techno wheels fitted with new tires. The Technic Package adds Litronic xenon headlights with washers. An optional rear window wiper was also selected, while modifications include GT3-style rocker panels and an aftermarket rear wing. Detailed images are provided in the gallery along with a clean CARFAX report.
The cabin features Black partial leather upholstery complemented by a matching dashboard, door panels, and floor mats. A three-spoke leather steering wheel was selected along with the Technic Package, which includes a Hi-Fi Sound System and onboard computer. A Pioneer head unit with a backup camera has been installed, the right door window has been repaired, and new seat cables have been fitted for both front seats. The seller adds that the lights and air conditioning system have recently been replaced.
Power comes from a naturally aspirated 3.4-liter flat-six engine, delivering up to 296 HP to all four wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission. The current owner, an experienced mechanic, has performed extensive services, including rebuilding both front axles, replacing the IMS bearing, rear main seal, front axle bearings, oil pressure sensor, and backup lights, as well as adjusting the shift cables. A recent full service addressed the differential and transmission along with the replacement of all filters, the battery, and the brakes.
This sale will include a clean title.
The seller would like you to know: “That this car has been updated by a master mechanic to virtually a new vehicle. All of the well-known issues to the 996 have been either repaired or replaced.”

When the current owner bought it - the intake was broken/dried out due to age and basically crumbled. He repaired everything. Unfortunately there was some damage that required a bit of work hence what looks damaged.
Hi, what happened to the intake area? The air filter box is modified, the intake manifold broken / sawn out? Thank you.
@jh986s thanks for the compliment - it really is a great looker/driver. When I found out the year, I was shocked as it looks AMAZING + drives even better!
For the winning bidder, check out my Black TechArt wheels that are perfect for this 996, in the deal tank section. Good luck with the auction smart looking car.
Thanks for the update
@Bilinski4447 thanks for the questions - yes to the LN IMS and some receipts are available. I am listing for my neighbor (he is not tech savvy) and is a master mechanic who has done all the work himself.
Thanks!
Did you use the LN IMS bearing upgrades? Was the work done by you? Any receipts?
@981X2 Thank you for the reply.
You are correct - the wheels are 18”.
I will reach out and have a correction made.
Cheers.
@DanielPHays, the description says 19” Sport Techno wheels, but it looks like those are 18". Please confirm.
@DanielPHays Thanks for the prompt replies! I suggest you get the “4” added to the title and have the description amended.
@NineNine6or7 it is interesting because the VIN check states Carerra but it is indeed a C4 - great question. And the front axels were rebuilt to OEM spec.
Cheers!
Description describes the car as rear wheel drive, but door sills say “Carrera 4”, is it actually a 4 and description is wrong, or was the front drive removed (as some folks do), or is it just the sills that say 4 and it’s originally a 2?
@NineNine6or7 Per the mechanic - checked and no scoring/issues.
Thanks!
Any chance to to check for bore scoring from the sump side?
