Featuring a bored out 3.8L flat-six engine, special styling cues, Forgeline wheels, and a sports exhaust muffler, this 996 is a complete package. Showing 62k miles on the odometer, this 996 is being offered for auction in excellent condition by its seller in Virginia.
Finished in Guards Red, this 2001 Carrera is said to have been garage-kept and shows to be in excellent condition with only minor wear present. The paint is perfectly accentuated by a new black soft top which was recently installed by the seller. The sleek and narrow body of this C2 has been dramatically enhanced due to a few upgrades including: aerokit, lowered suspension, and 19” Forgeline wheels that come wrapped in Toyo sport tires. The seller notes that the factory wheels and tires will be included in the sale.
Inside, this Carrera is appointed with a black full leather interior that remains in excellent condition. This interior has clearly been well-cared for throughout its life with all electronics and accessories fully functional. This 996 Carrera features a rebuilt and bored over 3.8L flax-six engine (originally 3.6L) from legendary Porsche specialists LN Engineering based out of Momence, IL. Power is delivered to the rear wheels by way of a sharp 6-speed manual transmission. The rear of the car is complemented by a sports muffler, which provides a deep and rich exhaust note from the motor. Just wanted to give a little "personal" side to the information I have provided about this car. Why am I selling it? Simply put, if i had a bigger garage I wouldn't. I have a 1971 911S in the garage too that I am 85% done restoring. But there is not enough room to do the work on it with the 996 parked in there with it. So moving the 996 out and getting tools etc all back out , well an hour passes then I can get to work (fun). Same for the end of the day as the 996 never sits outside. So I love porsches and wish I didn't have to sell the 996. I used to race in SCCA years back (i'm 61 now), back before kids and other responsibilities (wouldn't change it for the world). So the car is, in my mind, truly special and a lot of fun to drive. So if you have any questions about how the car has been cared for just let me know. Good luck.
