Up for auction is this highly-optioned 2001 Porsche 996 Carrera Cabriolet finished in Black Metallic over a black full leather interior. Sold new at Porsche of Huntington in New York, this 996 was purchased by the current owner in 2003 with approximately 15k miles previously driven. Having been carefully maintained under his ownership including a recent IMS and clutch replacement, this 2-owner Carrera is now being offered for auction showing approximately 38k miles on the odometer out of Long Island, NY.
The sleek Black Metallic finish on this 996 is stated to be in excellent original condition with only minor road going wear. Images detailing the condition of the exterior will be provided in the photo gallery. The seller states that prior to listing for auction, a professional inspection that included paint meter readings was conducted revealing an accident-free original car. A couple of noteworthy exterior features include Litronic Bi-Xenon headlights as well as factory 18” Sport Design wheels which remain in great shape and come dressed in Pirelli tires with good tread life remaining.
Complementing the exterior finish is a generously-equipped black full leather interior adorned with carbon fiber trimming throughout. The interior shows to be in excellent condition with a few blemishes including some bubbling on the all-leather dashboard. A new plastic rear window was fitted to the exceptionally clean cabriolet top in 2015 and an upgraded Bluetooth head unit has been installed (original radio is included with the sale). The $2,800 Advanced Technic Package tacks-on several must-have amenities including an on-board computer, Hifi sound system, CD-player, wind deflector, and headlight washers. This Carrera is powered by a naturally aspirated 3.4L flat-six engine rated at approximately 296 HP and 258 lb-ft of torque. The rear wheels are driven by way of a smooth 6-speed manual transmission making for a 0-60 time of approximately 5 seconds. An upgraded Fabspeed exhaust system and cold air intake free up some extra horsepower while greatly enhancing the engine note. The seller confirms that the original exhaust and intake will be included in-sale. In 2018, an IMS bearing replacement was carried out along with a clutch replacement. A service was performed earlier this year which included a new battery as well as fluid and filter changes. This Carrera is stated to be in excellent driving condition, just waiting to be enjoyed by a new owner.
